AMD Zen 3

AMD has released their announcement roadmap for their Zen 3 architecture and Radeon RX 6000 series RDNA 2 graphics cards. AMD will be introducing its next-generation Ryzen 4000 CPUs based on the Zen 3 architecture and Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards based on the RDNA 2 architecture in the coming month of October.

The Zen 3 based Ryzen CPUs and RDNA 2 based Radeon GPUs will be revealed in two separate events. AMD Ryzen 4000 Zen 3 CPUs will be announced on 8th October while the Radeon RX 6000 Series RDNA 2 GPU will be released on 28th October.

The first event will take place on Thursday, October 8 at 12:00 pm ET which will showcase the release of Zen 3 based Ryzen 4000 series Desktop CPUs codenamed “Vermeer”. On Wednesday, October 28 at 12:00 pm ET, AMD will reveal their long-awaited Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards which are based on the new RDNA 2 architecture.

As far as Zen 3 is confirmed, it will bring new processors which will be based on AMD’s fastest architecture yet. Only limited information is present about the Zen 3 architecture and Ryzen 4000 desktop series. It is said that the Ryzen 4000 processors will be based on the TSMC N7P or N7+ process and will have more than 32 MB of unified L3 cache. They will feature the Multi-Chip Module (MCM) design.

The same is the case for Radeon 6000 series cards as so far, very little is known about the Big Navi cards. A leak suggested that one card may feature 16 GB of Samsung’s GDDR6 memory and a 256-bit bus. But other than that, we have to wait for more news to come out.

In a statement, AMD has said:

Preparing to delight gamers globally with the next horizon of Radeon Graphics, we invite you to learn more about our RDNA 2 architecture, Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards, and our deep collaboration with game developers and ecosystem partners who will help us bring the best of Radeon to gamers. Tune in for the reveal of the future of Radeon PC gaming at 12 p.m. ET, October 28th.

We will have to wait and see what surprises AMD has in store for everyone.
