An alleged picture of AMD’s “Navi 21” Big Navi GPU has surfaced online. The Navi 21 GPU is said to be powering the flagship card of AMD’s next-generation AMD Radeon RX 6900XT cards. The GPU image was leaked on Twitter by @Coreteks.

The leaked picture of the die is said to be of Navi 21 GPU. Massive Die & GDDR6 Memory can be spotted in the picture. Coreteks has removed all references and labels over the GPU die to hide the sources of the image. He did however state that the GPU we are looking at is indeed the Big Navi “Navi 21” GPU which is going to be featured on the flagship Radeon RX 6900XT graphics card.

The GPU chip seems large and measures roughly 536mm2 but these are just rough estimations and the final size may differ from this. However, the die size seems to be close to the previous rumors which pointed out a 505mm2 die size for the flagship GPU.

The image shows a standard die package that points to GDDR6 memory being used rather than HBM2e which was rumored several times to feature in the AMD’S Radeon RX 6000 series. There is still some speculation that the Navi 21 XT and XL dies will be featuring standard GDDR6 configurations while the Navi 21 XTX die is going to utilize HBM2(e) sub-system for memory but all this are just rumors at this point and nothing has been confirmed.

Recent leaks also leaked PCB pictures of the RX 6900XT which suggests that the card will feature 16 GB of GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit bus interface. According to the Newegg Insider post leak, the Radeon RX 6900 XT will have 5,120 SPs and 16GB of GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit memory bus, which will result in a bus bandwidth of 512 GB/s. The Radeon RX 6800 XT will have 3,840 SPs and 12GB of GDDR6 memory across a 192-bit memory bus totaling to a 384 GB/s bus bandwidth.

AMD’s next-generation desktop graphics cards based on AMD RDNA2 architecture will be announced on October 28th.
