AMD has finally lifted the curtains from their much-anticipated Radeon RX 6000 RDNA 2 graphics cards and they will go head to head with NVIDIA’s RTX 3000 series. AMD has introduced three new graphics cards, the RX 6900 XT, RX 6800 XT, and RX 6800 all based on ‘Big Navi’ RDNA 2 architecture with prices ranging from 579 to 999 USD.
The AMD RX 6900 XT is the flagship card of the Radeon 6000 series. It features the Navi 21 XTX GPU which is the biggest gaming chip AMD has ever made on the FinFET 7nm process node and features an upgraded architecture that carries much higher efficiency and performance per watt. This card will compete directly with GeForce RTX 3090 graphic card.
The RX 6900 XT specifications include a fully enabled Navi 21 XTX GPU having 80 Compute Units or 5120 Stream Processors. The card will feature 16 GB of GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit bus interface, a 512 GB/s total bandwidth, and clock speeds of 2015 MHz base and 2250 MHz boost at factory specifications. The card will also feature 128MB of Infinity Cache.

Infinity Cache technology helps boost performance numbers while gaming by assisting the graphics memory and bandwidth. The card will feature a based TBP of 300W which is 50W less than the RTX 3090. RX 6900 XT also has 80 Ray Accelerators and 320 TMUs and 128 ROPs.
In the performance benchmarks shown by AMD, the performance was on par with RTX 3090 and in some cases, even better than 3090, with Rage Mode and Smart Access Memory enabled. AMD announced that Radeon RX 6900XT will be available on December 8 and it will have a competitive $999 USD.

The Radeon RX 6800 XT has a TDP of 300W and features 72 Ray Accelerators and 128 ROPs. The Texture Unit count drops to 288 units from the RX 6900 XT. In the performance benchmarks showed by AMD, the card is head to head with the RTX 3080 and even delivers better performance than the 3080 in some scenarios.
The RX 6800 XT will retail at $649 USD and it will be available starting from November 18.
The last offering from the Radeon RX 6000 series is the RX 6800 which is powered by the Navi 21 XL GPU with 60 Compute Units or 3840 stream processors. The card will feature the same VRAM config of 16 GB GDDR6 memory, a 256-bit bus interface with a memory clock of 14 Gbps which will deliver a net bandwidth of 448 GB/s. It also has lower frequencies at 1815 MHz base clock and 2105 MHz boost clock.

The model also has a 128 MB infinity cache, 60 Ray Accelerators, 96 ROPs, and 240 TMUs. The card has a TDP of 250W which is comparable to the RTX 2080 Ti. In performance benchmarks, the card is faster than the RTX 2080 Ti with the smart access memory feature enabled. RX 6800 will be competing against the RTX 3070 but has double the memory and better performance for just $80 USD.
