In this Anthem Best Storm Builds Guide, we will guide you on the best builds for Storm javelin in Anthem. Storm is most suitable for ranged combat and loved dealing massive amounts of damage to enemies from a safe distance. Out Storm builds are also focused on dealing great amounts of damage from a safe distance. Just like the natural rule, Storm deals massive damage, has a good range but lacks close combat capabilities.
Storm is also a little weak against armored enemies in one of our builds so you will need some extra backup plan if you want to use that specific build detailed below. Our Anthem Best Storm Builds Guide will detail three unique builds for Storm below and you can pick whichever fancies your gameplay style. We have shared the required loadout and the components for each build below.
Storm Builds Guide – Anthem
Our Anthem Best Storm Builds Guide details some of the best builds for Storm javelin in Anthem.
Area of Effect Build
This build makes use of Storm’s area of effect attack capabilities and combines them with fire and ice for maximum combos and damage. With this build, you can dish out massive AoE damage to enemies however this build is weak against armored enemies and enemies carrying shields. If you are just starting the game, this build is for you.
You will need the following loadout for this build.
- Ice Storm (Blast Seal) – This will prime your enemies and is excellent at handling enemy groups.
- Burning Orb (Focus Seal) – This charged shot can detonate multiple enemies at the same time.
- Quickening Field (Support Seal) – This shortens the cool down time of Ice Storm allowing you to use it more frequently.
As you can see above, Ice Storm and Burning Orb both have the ability to effect multiple enemies at the same time making them excellent crowd control attacks. Freeze the enemies with Ice Storm and then blast them up with a charged shot of Burning Orb afterwards. This is the classic prime and detonate attack. Freeze with ice and explode with fire.
You can fire multiple Burning Orb shots to create exploding combos as it will spread the prime to other enemies as well. Use this to your advantage and unleash massive combos. However, if the enemies are armored or carrying shield, this attack combo will not be very effective against them.
To counter such situations, make sure that you carry a backup gun with you always of you are using this build for Storm. Quickening Field will ensure that your Ice Storm is always ready for the next attack by reducing its cooldown timer. Apart from the main loadout, you can use the following components to further make this build competent in combat.
- Storm Combo Augment – It will increase the number of your combo chains.
- Elemental Conduit – This will increase your elemental damage but will reduce your physical damage.
- Elemental Synergy – This will increase your gear damage but reduce the gear recharge rate.
These components have their positives and negatives but for our build, these components will perfectly compliment the area of effect skills of Storm.
Crowd Control Build
This build is specifically aimed at handling large groups of enemies. This build is also effective against enemies which are much harder to kill. You will be stunning enemies with this build and then detonating them with your Glacial Spear. Glacial Spear lacks the range of other attacks but it is the perfect attack for this build as enemies will be stunned when you move in for the attack.
Just make sure that you come back to a safe location after attacking the enemies with you Glacial Spear. Do not linger around the enemies as after getting hit, they will not be stunned anymore. Ice Storm is excellent at handling large groups of enemies and freezing them in place. You will need the following loadout for this build.
- Ice Storm (Blast Seal) – This will prime your enemies and is excellent at handling large groups of enemies.
- Glacial Spear (Focus Seal) – You will use this to detonate and dealing massive damage to enemies. Lack range.
- Wind Wall (Support Seal) – Provides you with cover under heavy fire. Useful in close combat.
Blast your enemies with the Ice Storm and then fire a charged Glacial Spear at them to blast them off. You can protect yourself from enemy attack by using the Wind Wall if you are caught in fire when you close in to fire the charged Glacial Spear. Both Glacial Spear and Ice Storm have less cooldown time. With this loadout, use the following components.
- Ice Inscription – Increases ice damage and ice status effect duration.
- Elemental Conduit – Increases elemental damage but decreases physical damage.
- Elemental Empowerment – It will increase gear recharge rate but will decrease gear damage.
This build is specifically for ice and the components for this build have been chosen accordingly as well. They will further increase their effectiveness in the battle and make your build the perfect ice build.
Support Build
This build is best for providing support to other players on the battlefield. After dealing massive damage with this build, you will prime the enemies for your team members to land combos on. You will freeze enemies first and then use Lightning Strike to detonate enemies. This attack also features a wide area of attack so it is good for crowd control as well. You will need the following loadout for this build.
- Lightning Strike (Blast Seal) – You will use this attack to detonate primed enemies and deal massive damage in a specified area
- Frost Shards (Focus Shell) – This attack can freeze enemies and this attack can fire very quickly in rapid succession.
- Quickening Field (Support Seal) – This will reduce the cooldown timer of Lightning Strike.
Fire Frost Shards at your enemies quickly to freeze them and then unleash hell of then with the Lightning Strike. This will deal massive damage after detonating the enemies and covers a decent area with this attack. You can use the following components for this build.
- Lightening Inscription – This will increase electric damage and electric effect.
- Elemental Conduit – This will increase elemental damage but decrease physical damage.
- Elemental Empowerment – This will increase the gear recharge rate but on the other hand it will lower gear damage.
Your components will increase the combat effectiveness of Lightning Strike as it is your main damage dealer in this build. Frost Shards are only the primer and are used to freeze enemies. They will not deal enough damage to the enemies.
