Anthem Demo infinite loading issue seems to be a major issue and Bioware has confirmed that it is more than likely that the infinite loading issue will not be resolved this weekend. The Anthem VIP demo is almost over and that means that if you are facing the infinite loading issue then you will not be able to play the demo this weekend.
There is another demo coming next week, which will be open to all players and you might have better luck then. The following is what the team had to say about the issue:
This is occurring for some players, particularly when they transition from Fort Tarsis to an expedition. We saw this only in isolated cases during internal testing and believed it was resolved. Unfortunately, the problem is exacerbated in the real-world where differences with player’s ISPs and home networks introduce new behavior.
While it was 24 hours before I could access the game, I did get in and did face this issue multiple times. Another issue that I faced more often was the random crash. At times the game was fine for an hour but there were other incidents where the Anthem VIP demo would crash over and over in the first few minutes of launch.
Anthem Launch Build Details
The demo version of the game is pretty old and Bioware has mentioned changes and improvements that will be part of the game at launch. These improvements include better keyboard and mouse support, reduced input lag and performance increases. The following are the improvements that Anthem will have at launch:
Controls
-
Mouse acceleration should be off for aiming – we can double check this is true in the latest build
-
You should have your 1:1 mouse input
- Input lag – we fixed an input lag issue that was often described as aiming being “floaty”
Flight
-
Fixes
- Right sensitivity
Swimming
-
Improvements in the latest build
Menu / UI
-
Clicking directly onto items instead of needing to focus the list first
-
Should just be able to click into the options once they are highlighted
-
Menu keybindings for changing tabs
-
Hold to activate (Under consideration)
Forge
-
Will investigate rotate speed with the mouse scroll wheel
Everything Else
-
FOV Slider
-
Motion Blur
-
UI suggesting DPAD buttons – this is a bug, it should show you whatever your equivalent key bindings are (e.g. to drop a relic, push “.”)
-
Sounds clipping each other
-
Percentages for settings
-
- Text chat is something we will continue to monitor – there is VOIP to help explain things to teammates and we have some other ideas to help with this post-launch (“Follow Me”, “Group Up”, etc)
Keybinding issues
-
Great list of bugs here, thanks for sharing them:
-
[Unable to bind L Alt, Scroll Wheel binding not working properly]
-
[Rebinding melee to Mouse 4 causes text under melee icon to be misplaced]
-
[Scroll Wheel binding not working properly]
-
[Default keybinding not working]
Performance
-
We have done performance improvements since the Demo but I don’t have a good way to quantify that for you… it is something we will continue to work on improving.
If you did get access to the demo and are interested in finding out more about the rest of the Javelins then check out our Javelin guide.
I hope that the infinite loading issue will not be part of the Anthem demo that is coming next week. A week should be enough time to fix the issue. Let us know what you think about Anthem and whether or not you are interested in playing the game at launch.
