In this Anthem Strongholds Guide, we will detail what Stronghold missions are and how many are there in the game. We will also guide you in what you can expect and how you can complete Stronghold missions.

Strongholds in Anthem are unique dungeon that can be accessed after the main story of the game, or by reaching a higher player level. These missions can be repeated any number of times that you want, and can be played at a higher difficulty in order to get better and rarer loot.

Strongholds mission can be played with four players in a team, be it your friends or any other random players through matchmaking. The mission always have a tough boss waiting for you at the end so it is a good idea to squad up with good players.

As you can expect, Strongholds reward you will lots of loot and rare items. It is one of the best ways you can loot in Anthem. Along with treasure chests with a decent amount of item each, you will be awarded with a good number of items upon defeating a boss.

There are also Treasure Chests in some Stronghold missions that give loot when you open them.

Anthem Stronghold Missions Guide

Below we have detailed how you can complete all the three Stronghold and their missions in the game.

Tyrant Mine Stronghold

This Stronghold is unlocked when you reach payer Level 7. Once you are ready to take on the challenge, and to defeat the Tyrant boss in the Stronghold, then head out to the location of this Stronghold.

Follow the objective marker that will take you to the First Relic. Your objective here is to collect 8 Echoes to silence the First Relic. There will be many enemies that will come to attack you while you collect the Echoes for the First Relic. You do not need to engage the enemies as they will keep spawning and attacking you. It is best to keep at the objective at collecting the Echoes to silence the First Relic.

Your next objective is to go to the second Relic that needs to be silenced as well by collecting another 8 Echoes. Do the same as before and once you are done, a Gatekeeper will appear. This enemy needs to be defeated if you want to progress to the next stage of the Stronghold.

To defeat the Gatekeeper, its best to go for combos and abilities, so you can bring it down quickly. The Gatekeeper is an armored enemy and has a long life bar, so combos are the way to go if you want to deal decent amounts of damage.

Once the Gatekeeper is defeated, head into the tunnels to go underground, and explore until you reach a Shaper Relic. Your task is to deliver 6 Fragments to the transporter to silence this third Relic. Fragments can be located by your compass that will lead you to each.

Once you have delivered all the Fragments, you are required to charge the signal to open the door. Then you have to destroy the thunder nodes. Many enemies will try to stop you here, so you have to deal with them too.

Once the door is opened, you can go in to find the Tyrant boss that you have to defeat in order to complete the whole mission. Beating Tyrant is no easy task. It take as long time to take it down so its best to come prepared.

Your Ultimate Abilities will deal massive damage, which is where you can excel in killing it. The Tyrant also has a weak spot on its tail, which is where you focus of heavy damage should be. When you have dealt enough damage, the Tyrant will retreat while other enemies arrive to keep you busy.

Once you have defeated Tyrant, the mission is completed and you are rewarded for completing this Stronghold mission

Heart of Rage Stronghold

This Stronghold is accessible after you have completed the “Return to the Heart of Rage” main story mission. once you are ready to take on the challenge, and to defeat the Monitor boss, then head out to the Stronghold to begin.

Once you are at the Stronghold, enter Freemark and defeat the Dominion Forces. Along with the Dominion Forces, you also have to deal with Turrets. These pose a bigger threat to you than the other enemies, so its best to take them out as soon as possible. They deal high damage and can take you out in long range.

Once you are done in this area, follow the markers to the next area where you have to take on the Ancient Ash Titan. This enemy has a lot of fire projectiles that have homing capabilities. Dodge the fire balls and stay behind cover. Take the Titan down and proceed forwards.

Your next task is to defeat the Dominion Forces and to disable the Dominion Grounder. Next you need to head into the next marked area, collect 10 Echoes and defeat Dominion Forces. The Dominion Furies will have a new lightning attack that deals massive damage. once the Fury Raises its hand in the air, better fly away to dodge the attack.

Once the Furies have been defeated, pick up the keys and go down the side of the mountain to where the Monitor is located. The fight with the Monitor comes in 3 phases, and is exactly the same as in the main story mission “Return to the Heart”

Attack the Monitor in the glowing areas which are the weak points, this will deal high damage to the monitor when attacked on these points. You can also shoot the Red Orbs before they explode, as they take a big chunk of health out of you.

In the second phase of the fight, do not melee the Mordant Elemental as they explode when defeated. So its best to stay away at a distance and taking them down. Guns are your best friend here.

The third phase will involve a ring of fire on the ground, you can escape this ring by flying away or jumping. Meanwhile the Lightning Balls travel quickly and hones in on players. You need to dash away quickly or stay behind cover to avoid them.

Once you have defeated the Monitor, the Stronghold mission is complete.

The Temple of Scar Stronghold

This Stronghold is accessible after you have completed the “Return to the Heart of Rage” main story mission. once you are ready to take on the challenge, and to defeat the Scelos boss, then head out to the Stronghold to begin.

Once at the Stronghold, head inside the cave to destroy three Turrets along with all the Scar enemies that will be present in the area. Next you have to destroy the 6 alarms and clear out the Scar Troops.

Your next part is to defeat the Gatekeeper, and then  continue through the small opening of the gate to continue forward. Keep following the objective marker to your next location.

You next task is to find 3 Fuel Cells, then continue forward to the gate to pick up 5 explosives. You don’t necessarily have to fin the enemies here, keep at the objective and find the items to proceed forward.

Next you have to follow the Sewer Path and destroy the 4 Turrets. Continuing from this area, you have to go to next area to defeat the enemies around this area as well. Lastly, you will come across Scelos.

Scelos cant be damage as long as the shield around him is active. Shoot the exposed part of the shield to disable the shield generator and exposing Scelos for attacks. when looking for critical damage, you have to shoot at Scelos’ legs which are its weak points. The weak points are hidden behind armor plating that you have to shoot off first.

To take its shield generator out, its best to have an LMG that has a continues fire rate to disable it. In addition, stay away from the Generator Blades as they can cause damage to you when you are hit.
