Assassins Creed Valhalla Beginners Guide

In this Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Beginner’s, we will guide you on how you can start your Viking adventure in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in the best way possible. Starting a game of this magnitude is always confusing for some players so if you want to make sure that you have a strong start in the game and you already know the most important mechanics in the game, this Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Beginner’s Guide is here for you.

Beginner’s Guide – Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Our Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Beginner’s Guide details everything that you need to know about starting the game for the very first time.

Choose Your Custom Difficulty

When you start the game for the very first time, you are offered three different difficulty settings that you can choose for different gameplay mechanics of the game. These include Exploration, Combat, and Stealth. You have four options in each of these three categories and you can pick them individually. If you prefer difficult combat but easier stealth, you can have that. If you want difficult exploration but easier combat, you can have that as well. These three difficulty tiers offer you great customization when it comes to your gameplay style. You must pick difficulties for all three mechanics according to your own needs so that you can enjoy the game.

Use Odin’s Sight Frequently

No matter that your gaming style in the game is, Odin’s Sight is an extremely helpful feature and you should use it plenty. Every time you arrive at a new location, you must always scan the whole area with Odin’s Sight first. This will mark all of the enemies, resources, and any other useful item in the area for you on the map. Special loot will also be marked for you in gold. The best thing about Odin’s Sight is that the enemies and golden loot are visible through walls as well. However, this is not a permanent solution and markers will go away after some time however you can always use it again since it charges fairly quickly and there is no penalty for abusing it.

Use Raven’s Eye for More Detailed Oversight

Apart from using Odin’s Sight, you can also use your raven and its Raven’s Eye ability to have a bird’s eye view of the whole area as well. Since your raven flies over the area, it will help you identify the complete area from a safe location as you mark enemies and check out their patrolling routes. It will also give you hints about particular people in areas and sometimes you will also use this to identify mission objectives. You can combine both Odin’s Sight and Raven’s Eye for getting a double edge over your enemies.

Try to Unlock as Many Synchronization Points as Possible

Synchronization Points are a trademark of the Assassin’s Creed franchise and they’ve found their way into Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as well. These are extremely high areas that are used for surveying surrounding areas. Not only do they unlock a fast travel point for you, but they also mark all of the mysteries, wealth, and other activities in their coverage area. These Synchronization Points also reveal maps around them so if you do not want to physically visit all of these locations to reveal maps, you can visit these Synchronization Points and use them to reveal the map and everything in them easily.

Always Explore Your Surroundings Thoroughly

While this might not be applicable in open-world exploration, during missions, you are mostly occupied with combat or sneaking around so you might not think about all of the cool loot hiding in areas around you. You must always explore your surroundings thoroughly because there is always something hiding here and there in the mission locations. Use Odin’s Sight after every few minutes to highlight everything in your surroundings. This will ensure that you do not miss anything while completing your objectives. However, you can always return to these locations later and sweep them for any useful item that you might have missed in the game.

Always Upgrade Your Gear

Your armor and weapons play a vital role in the game and they depend on how much Power Level you have in the game. Apart from always looking for better gear, you can also upgrade your current gear to make them more effective in combat and increase their combat level as well. You can do so by bringing Gunnar Ingots that you find in the world. Gunnar is your Blacksmith and you can access his services in your settlement after you build the Blacksmith Hut. This is actually a story mission so you cannot miss this. Once Gunnar is all set in his new Blacksmith shop, visit him with materials and keep your gear in top condition to fight tougher enemies in the game.

Use Auto-Pilot Feature to Relax During Longboat Sequences

Since Vikings spent more time on the water than on the ground, you will be spending a great deal of your time in the water in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as well. However, you do not necessarily have to manually control the boat every time you are in the waters. The boat comes with an ‘auto-drive’ feature that you can engage, and the boat will follow the main story marker or any custom marker that you place on the map. Just make sure that this marker is on the sea and not on land. While the longboat drives itself to the location, you can chat with your clan, listen to their stories, and have a good laugh. If you get bored with their stories, you can always switch to live music and your clan will happily sing some songs for you as well to make your journeys more interesting.

Expand Your Settlement

When you reach England and settle down, your settlement is missing all the necessities. It is vital that you start expanding your settlement and start building new structures to help you in various aspects of your gameplay. The very first expansion requires you to build your Blacksmith Gunnar’s building so you will be introduced to the expansion mechanic. However, after this, you are on your own and you must expand the remaining buildings on your own. Make sure that you continue to complete raids and expand your base because it will help your game in various ways.
