In this Baldur’s Gate 3 guide, we will guide you on how you can hire Hirelings for your party in Baldur’s Gate 3. Hirelings are essentially party members that you can hire for yourself if you have free slots in your party. These are cheap alternatives to having a permanent party member. They will fill your party, and fight alongside you but will not have their backstories or other political agendas for you to worry about. This makes them a vital component of Baldur’s Gate 3 and this guide will go over how you can hire some for your party if you have spaces available.
Hirelings Guide – Baldur’s Gate 3
Hirelings are hired with gold, and you can use their skills in your party until you can find a more suitable and permanent member to fill up that slot on your part. If you are looking to hire some Hirelings, you will need to first progress in Act 1 of the story until you arrive at the beach and can reach its first Overgrown Ruins waypoint. Right next to this waypoint, you will find a locked double door. To get inside, you will either need to pick the lock or go around the back to find the alternate entrance.
Once inside, you must avoid the traps and kill the enemies until you can reach the decorated sarcophagus and free Withers. This is the same Withers who will help you change your class and respec your characters. Once Withers is free, speak with him and answer his question to make him go to your camp. Once he is there, speak with him again and you can start hiring some Hirelings. Each Hireling will cost you 100 Gold along with a spot at your party. If you want to dismiss them from your party, all you need to do is interact with the one that you want to dismiss and let them go.
All of the Hirelings start at Level 1, and you will have a limited number of them to hire in the game. They belong to different races and classes so if you want to switch up things in your party, you can hire the one that suits your needs. You can check out the table below to see who is available depending on their race and class.
