E-Line Media shared a brand new trailer of its upcoming game Beyond Blue which showcased its award-winning cast of voice actors. Beyond Blue is the upcoming underwater narrative-driven adventure game which is considered as the spiritual successor to the BAFTA award-winning title Never Alone.
As revealed in the new trailer, the game features a long list of award-winning voice actors which includes Anna Akana (Awkward, Ant-Man), Hakeem Kae-Kazim (Hotel Rwanda, Black Sails), Mira Furlan (Babylon 5, Lost), and Ally Maki (Big Bang Theory, Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger). Beyond Blue is a truly unique adventure game that is set against the near-future backdrop of Earth’s oceans. It features the scientific support of real-world underwater exploration and outreach initiative, OceanX, which focuses on worldwide exploration with its minimally invasive exploration techniques.
The game follows the story of a crew of scientists Mirai, played by Anna Akana, and Andre, played by Hakeem Kae-Kazim. Both of them are out in the ocean testing out their ‘Ocean Sense Network’ which allows them to shine light on the deepest and the darkest parts of the ocean which has never been explored before. Players explore these depths and try to unravel their endless mysteries.
The game focuses on the Western Pacific Ocean along with a large multispecies gathering of cetaceans and other creatures. Players explore the underwater world as Mirai and use technology to better understand the ‘urgent threats facing these blue waters’. The game also gives players a never-before-seen look at licensed footage from BBC Studios’ Blue Planet II which adds to the game’s story and help players better understand the social and emotional lives of whales.
