Bigben Acquires Greedfall Developer Spiders

Bigben has announced that it has signed the agreement for the acquisition of Spiders, a French video game development studio. Spiders is best known for its action and role-playing video games. Bigben has been expanding numerous studios and the latest one to join the Bigben’s umbrella were Cyanide, EKO and KT Racing. Now Spiders is the brand new acquisition by Bigben making it closer to its goal of becoming a leading AA publisher.

Bigben is on a roll and is trying its best to fill the genres missing in its portfolio as it is very important to fill these gaps to make itself stronger as a developer-publisher. Spiders was formed in 2008 by former Monte Cristo TM developers. They have experience of working on Silverfall TM game. Since its formulation, Spiders has been working on action and role-playing games and is heavily focused on home consoles.

The studio has a diverse library of games such as the iconic Mars: War Logs TM, Bound by Flame and The Technomancer. Their brand new game Greedfall is under development at the studio and is planned for a September 2019 release. The game features a unique visual identity by the Baroque art of the 17th century Europe and it is eagerly awaited by the gaming community.

According to the official press release, the final completion of the acquisition will be paid in cash and is planned for early September 2019 after all the usual conditions for the transaction are fulfilled. After its acquisition, Bigben will have 7 development sites, 6 in France and 1 in Canada and around 300 developers which are supported by a strong publishing staff of more than 40 people.

Bigben recently released Pro Cycling Manager Season 2019 under its umbrella and it managed to enter Steam Top 20 Chart for its release month of June 2019. This is a big achievement and we are looking forward to more amazing games by developers under the umbrella of Bigben.
