Gearbox Teases Borderlands 3 for a PAX East Reveal

Gearbox Software has teased the reveal for Borderlands at the PAX East event. The teaser for the nest game; Borderlands 3 was made by the developer on Twitter. The tweet shows a freeway exit sign and date, set for 28 March.

28 March is also the date for day one of PAX East that is taking place in Boston. While Gearbox has been known to announce previous games at previous PAX events. The image teased is clearly made as a subtle hint for fans to expect an announcement. Another feature of the image is the “Exit 3” sign, adding a nice touch that Borderlands 3 is right around the corner.

Fans of the series were expecting a sequel title as in Borderlands 3. Many were disappointed when Borderlands 3 was not coming at E3 2018, while also worrying rumors about the publisher pushing the release till 2020. From this point, fans were left unsure if the game would be delayed, as there was no information coming out form the developers.

It has been six years since the last title came in the series; Borderlands 2 was released in September of 2012 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. Since then, Gearbox and its partners have released a few spinoffs and add-ons that include Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Tales from the Borderlands, and a VR version of Borderlands 2.

Now it seems that Borderlands 3 is finally coming out, and Gearbox Software is expected to feature “never before seen reveals, exclusives and surprises.” If not a release date, we can expect a lot of details coming for the game, and any announcement for the third title in the series will be welcomed by many.
