How to Unlock Boat Exploration
Boat exploration can be unlocked pretty early in the game when you are in Halcyonia. This location contains a task where you have to help an old lady by retrieving her boat and rescuing her from monsters.
Once you rescue her, follow her as she takes you to the beach, where she will then reward you with the boat. The good thing about boat exploration is that you can send out your boat to explore and find treasures to return the goods back to you. You can even send your boat out to explore while your Nintendo Switch is in sleep mode, collecting the rewards when your boat comes back after a while or when you resume playing the games.
When your boat is full of items, you can go to the docks to collect the loot that it brought back to you. Go back to the old lady and recall the boat to claim all the items the boat collected during the exploration. Make use of the boat even if you are not playing the game, as rare loot items are always a good thing to get overtime.
