This Call of Duty Warzone Weapons Guide will detail all of the weapon classes, and some of the best weapons you can use in the game. Call of Duty Warzone comes with several different weapons ranging from assault rifles to shotguns and sniper rifles.
The game also lets you customize your weapon Loadouts so that you can easily have your choice of weapons at the ready when you call a loadout drop. Each loadout will allow you to choose a Primary and one Secondary Weapon.
Call of Duty Warzone Weapons Guide
Below we have detailed all of the weapons in the game, along with the best weapons you can use.
Assault Rifles
The game has many assault rifles that allow you to build your own loadout. From close range assault, rifles to medium to long-range rifles will help you fight in every match. Some weapons work great in Warzone, while others are best left unused.
The best assault rifles in the game are ODEN, M4A1, Scar, and AK-47. Starting with the M4A1 will give you a balanced weapon choice if you are struggling with control. ODEN is a devastating weapon that if mastered, can come very handy.
Sub Machine Guns
SMGs fit well in the secondary weapons category. However, some weapons in this category are so good, that you can use them as a primary if you want. SMGs are best for medium to close-ranged combat. Infiltrating a building with a P90 will allow you so shoot a quick burst of rounds at the opponents and clear out the area.
The SMGs in the game vary from weapon design to other features like damage, range and magazine size. The best weapons in this category are the P90, which will spray bullets and deal a lot of damage to the enemies. On the other hand, if you want more control, the AUG and the MP5 can also be a good choice. But if it were to me, I would go for the AUG.
Shotguns
All the shotguns in Warzone fire buckshot, which deals massive amounts of damage with the pellets that they release from each shot. Shotguns are best for close-range combat as they instantly take down the enemy. Finding a shotgun early on in the match will help you a lot in taking out an entire team or players that have just landed, looking for a weapon of their own.
I have found that Shotguns work well as secondary weapons. Pairing then with LMGs, or even assault rifles gives you a chance to have both medium and close-range combat advantage. The best shotguns in the game are the R9-0 and the 725 shotgun that deals more damage in a controlled rate of fire.
LMGs
Light Machine Guns are known for their high caliber bullets that can damage opponents at any range. These weapons in the game come with high capacity rounds where you will find a magazine size holding 100 to 150 or more bullets. The only issue with these is that they are bulky and heavy weapons to move around with.
If you love to carry more ammo and deal massive damage, then being the heavy gunner with these weapons should be your choice. The best LMGs in the game are the PKM and the M91. Both are decent weapons and can be paired with a shotgun in the secondary weapon to have a good loadout.
Sniper Rifles
Sniper rifles have the most powerful bullets and allow you to knock down an enemy with one shot. Along with offering range, you can also equip mods on it to reduce weapon recoil and better control. By default, every sniper rifle is fixed with an 8x scope. However, you can increase this by equipping long-range scopes on your rifles.
The best Sniper Rifle in the game is the HDR, which when modded will surely be your go-to weapon of choice. Other weapons in the category are not as good as the HDR, but if you want to try, you can give the AX-50 a go.
Melee Weapons
Warzone also has a unique shield in the melee weapons category which is the Riot Shield. This weapon is the best defensive item you can have as it is a ballistic and explosive proof weapon allowing you to block bullets and reduce incoming explosive damage.
The Riot Shield works best if you are going towards an open area to revive an enemy, and have to stop incoming bullets from hitting you both. It also works best when defending an objective or providing cover to other teammates.
Handguns
Handguns are the best backup options you can have, besides other secondary weapons. You don’t necessarily have to carry one if you have a better secondary weapon, but they can be added to your custom loadout if you fancy using one.
The best handguns in the game are the M1 and the .50 GS which work well in close combat and are quite balanced.
