Weapon Forms
There are five Weapon Forms in the game.
Shatter
This is a shotgun-type weapon that is best for dealing a lot of damage from close-range. This weapon will be effective in taking down multiple enemies that are nearby with a couple of shots. The weapon may require you to destroy the shields of the enemies before you can rely on dealing damage. That is where you can go with the Launcher.
To unlock this Weapon Form, you first need to get to the first control point in the game. The weapon form will then be purchased after it gets unlocked.
Grip
This is an all-round and balanced weapon that will get the job done. Grip has a lot of advantages but lacks in dealing a lot of damage. However, it is still one of the best weapon forms in the game. It is highly accurate from any range whether you want to take out a target from far away or smash their heads in from point-blank. In addition, it also has a decent magazine size that will give you a lot of shots to power through.
To unlock Grip, you need to go to the Director’s Office that is accessible in the opening mission of the game. Once you are in the office, you can pick it up and claim it.
Spin
This weapon form is best for enemies that rely on levitating and flying around. The Spin works great from close to medium ranges and will deal almost the same amount of damage as the Shatter. You do not have to be so accurate with Spin as the bullet spread is not so big as the Shatter.
To unlock the Spin weapon form, you need to get the Level 2 clearance. This can be done during one of the main story missions of the game. Once you have the clearance, the weapon form will be available to purchase.
Pierce
This weapon form is best for long-range combat and can be considered as a weapon that is a sniper rifle. The weapon is highly accurate and deals a lot of damage if you can focus on headshots. If the enemy is not shielded, it can take them out with one shot. The only disadvantages are that it has massive recoil and not a lot of ammo before it needs recharging again.
To unlock Pierce, you need to complete the Old Boys Club main story mission of the game, which will give you access to the Panopticon. Once you have done that, the Pierce will be available.
Charge
This weapon form is like a grenade launcher type of weapon that deals a lot of damage if it fired when fully charged. Though it may look like a menacing weapon that fires three projectiles at once, the disadvantage is that the projectiles have random trajectories and do not have a large area of effect upon impact. This makes it a very impractical weapon that you might rarely use. The only good thing about this weapon is when you want to take out a large group of enemies, but that can still be done with other effective weapon forms in the game.
To unlock Charge, you need to complete the main story mission where you reach the Panopticon in the Containment sector of the game. After the mission, you will be able to purchase this weapon form.
Best Weapon Forms
Weapon forms are designed to suit the type of playstyle you prefer. Out of all the weapon forms that are available in the game, they are differentiated by the range and the damage that they offer. Having said that, if you prefer close-ranged combat, you will want any weapon that deals high damage and is best to bring the action up close. This is where the Shatter comes in very handy and is the best shotgun-type weapon you can have.
