Google unveiled its cloud based Stadia gaming platform during GDC 2019 and id Software was quick to announced the release of Doom Eternal on the platform. During the presentation, id Software showed a demo of Doom Eternal being played on Google’s cloud based platform and it looked amazing.
The video of the gameplay demo was captured by GameSpot and you can check out the video below as well. The video is not in 4K however on release, Google Stadia will support 4K and 60 FPS streams which means that Doom Eternal will be in 4K and 60 FPS as well. The original Doom released back in also supported 60 fps on consoles and PC so the next one will also run in full 60 FPS on consoles as well as Stadia when it comes out.
The demo we have here is a little low quality since it has been captured from a screen during GDC. GameSpot however managed to show us the game actually in action on the Stadia platform. We can see that the title is running flawlessly on the platform and it is very smooth. There is no lag or any delay of any sort. The title is being streamed in the video below.

Just like Stadia, Doom Eternal has no release date at this moment. However, since Stadia is expected to come out in late 2019 and we know that Doom Eternal is going to be a launch title for the platform. Apart from Doom Eternal, another confirmed title for the platform is Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and Google has been testing it out publically since last year.
Apart from these two titles, no other titles have been revealed as of yet. We do know that Google has made a brand new first-party studio to work on exclusive Stadia titles and it will be headed by none other than Jade Raymond who is an industry veteran working previously with both Ubisoft and EA.
