Inverge Studios has announced that their classic 3D platformer Effie is arriving on Steam next year after a successful release on PS4. Effie was released on PS4 back in June 2019 under the PlayStation Talents Initiative however the game is now nearing its completion for a successful port on PC.
The PC port is being made in the startup accelerator Lanzadera which belongs to the entrepreneurship hub Marina de Empresas and is promoted by Juan Roig in Valencia, Spain. The PC port will bring all the fun and challenge of the PS4 version for the PC players. Effie follows the journey of Galand who is on a quest to break a curse laid upon him.
The curse which has befallen on Galand brings premature old age on him. The game is played in the form of a 3D platformer however it also combines combat, adventure platforming and puzzles in a unique fantasy story. Galand is also equipped with a powerful magic shield which gives Galand special abilities.
With his magic shield, Galand can perform different moves and attacks which ensure his survival throughout his adventure. Apart from different offensive and defensive moves, the shield can also be used to surf around the world of Oblena at great speeds. Effie takes a lot of its inspiration from games like Jak & Daxter, Maximo or Ratchet & Clank so you can expect some classic throwback mechanics in the game.
Effie is slated for release on Steam on January 28, 2020. Fans can now add the game in their Steam Wishlist. Effie will have a price of $19.99 on Steam and so far only a digital release is planned for Steam as well.
