Elden Ring Grave Warden Duelist Boss Guide

Grave Warden Duelist is pretty easy to beat but becomes significantly easier when you are a mage and attack with spells, or if you summon Spirit Ashes that accompany you in the battle.

The boss’ uses two hammers tied with chains on both its arms. He uses these hammers to swing around for melee attacks while moving closer to you at all times. If the hammer swing does not reach, it can extend the hammer’s reach thanks to the chains that tie the weapons to its arms. The reach is not that significant, but the quick combo attacks can catch you off guard and hit you.

If you rely on melee attacks, consider using Spirit Ashes to distract the boss, and then look in for your own melee attacks before dodging away from the hammer swings. The boss’s attacks will deplete your stamina, which means that you should dodge and then block his attacks to have enough stamina to counterattack.

If you use spells to attack the boss, the fight becomes pretty easy as you can easily move around, missing most of the attacks, while quickly casting spells to hit the boss. If done correctly, you can end the boss battle in your favor in less than 3-4 minutes.
