Starscourge Radahn can be found in Wailing Dunes and will require some muscle power and powerful weapons to deal consistent damage. However, this fight is best fought with companion NPCs to make it somewhat manageable, to say the least.

When you first start the boss fight, it begins in a large sandy dune desert, with the boss quite some distance away. Don’t let this fool you as the boss will immediately start shooting purple orbs at your location that travel so fast that it can be very hard to dodge at the right time. Getting the timing right each time will take some time, and best done when you can see the orbs coming and dodging at the right second.

During this phase where you are quite the distance away from the boss, Starscourge Radahn will stay in one place and use his purple orbs as his main attack. Getting hit once or twice will be more than enough to kill you, which in the first few tries will be more often than not.

Before you run straight to the boss, you should look for golden summoning points that allow you to call upon NPC companions that you have met in the game so far to come alongside to fight you. This is an important step that needs to be done to make the battle manageable. Run around the area summoning the companions before heading close to the boss, all the while looking and dodging the purple orbs that will be sent at your location relentlessly.

As you get closer, Starscourge Radahn will then summon arrows above that rain down and follow you. Use Torrent to steer clear from this attack, while your companions aggro the boss. This is where the real fight will begin as you close in on a few hits of your own.

Starscourge Radahn’s attacks are really powerful and chaotic in both the delayed gravity attacks and the flurry of melee attacks that he produces. While the gravity attacks can be dodged at the right time, it is the melee attacks that are troublesome when he is riding his horse and slashing his swords all around him. Your companions will eventually die considering how powerful these attacks are, which is also your cue to back off towards the starting area as far as possible and resummon your companions in the same way you did earlier.

This will allow your companions to come back to the fight. While attacking, the boss will stagger at times, letting you perform a riposte. However, the time window is pretty short and the boss will require and perform a quick attack if you don’t get this done in time.

When the boss’s health is half gone, he will jump away, and return to the battleground as a fiery meteor falling from the sky. This begins the second phase of the battle, where the boss becomes faster and uses more gravity attacks. He will also have 4 purple orbs hovering over it which he uses to attack when he locks on a single target. If your companions are dead at this point, repeat the process of summoning them to continue the fight.

One of the main attacks in this phase is where Starscourge Radahn will lock on to one target, whether it is you or a companion, and then unleash all the purple orbs. The orbs follow really close to each other, which means that getting hit by the first one ensures that you get hit by all of them. You can block the orbs but they will cause stamina damage while getting hit by them is pretty much guaranteed death.

At this point, it is all about staying alive, summoning companions, and making sure you have the boss’ sight away from you while you sneak in for a quick succession of hits.
