The Summer season is here and with the E3 officially gone for this year, Sony is kicking off the game announcements season with their latest State of Play for June 2022. Featuring many new trailers, announcements, and updates on various upcoming titles for both PS5 and PS4, the latest State of Play is a good one. Let’s check out everything that Sony announced during its latest State of Play in June 2022.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Sony began the State of Play with a strong one with the official reveal of the Resident Evil 4 Remake which was earlier rumored to be in development. It is slated for release on March 24, 2023. It will also feature PS VR 2 content which is currently in development. Check out the trailer below:

PS VR 2 Title Updates

Next, Sony announced four titles that are currently in development for the upcoming PS VR 2. These include Resident Evil VIII or Village, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Chapter 2: Retribution (Coming out in 2022), No Man’s Sky, and Horizon Call of the Mountain. Major Update for Horizon Forbidden West

Horizon Forbidden West is receiving a major update that will add New Game+ and many other improvements such as Improved Visual Fidelity, Changing Outfits, new Ultra Hard difficulty, Reset Skills, and new costumes and trophies for everyone to unlock. The new update is now available to download for everyone for free.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered PC Launch

Insomniac Games announced that the critically-acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is coming to PC on August 12, 2022. It will include all of the DLCs released for the game as well. Check out the PC announcement trailer below:

Stray Release Date Announcement

The cat game Stray by BlueTwelve Studio and Annapurna Interactive got its release date announced in a brand-new trailer as well. Stray is launching on PS5 and PS4 on July 19, 2022, and the game will be part of the PlayStation Plus Extra and higher tiers as well at no additional cost. Check out the new trailer below:

The Callisto Protocol Release Date Trailer

Striking Distance Studios, a studio formed by ex-Dead Space developers, revealed a brutal trailer of their upcoming title The Callisto Protocol. The Callisto Protocol is releasing on PS4 and PS5 on December 2, 2022. Check out the new trailer below:

Rollerdrome Release Date Trailer

Stylish roller skating slaughter game Rollerdrome received a new trailer during the Sony’s State of Play as well. Rollerdrome is slated for release on PS5 and PS4 on August 16, 2022, and the game is currently under development at Roll7 with Private Division manning the publishing helms. Eternights Reveal Trailer

Studio Sai and Kovloon Nights revealed their new project Eternights with an interesting trailer that showcased some of the in-game characters and tentacle-like arms growing out of the main protagonist. It is described as a dating sim and an action game combined into one. It is slated for release in Early 2023 on PS5 and PS4. Check out the trailer below:

Street Fighter 6 Gameplay Trailer

Capcom released the first trailer for Street Fighter 6 which is the latest title in the long-running Street Fighter franchise. The trailer showcases fights, some returning characters like Chun-Li, Ryu, and Jamie along with open-world exploration mechanics. Street Fighter 6 is slated for release on PS5 and PS4 in 2023. Tunic PlayStation Release Date

The beautiful indie game by ISOMETRICORP is coming to PS5 and PS4 this year. It will release on September 27, 2022. Check out the new trailer below:

Season: A Letter to the Future

The beautiful indie game by Scavengers Studio is also coming to PS4 and PS5 this year. This beautiful game about exploring the season will release on both PS4 and PS5 this Autumn. A confirmed release date will be announced later. Check out the trailer for the game below:

Final Fantasy XVI Trailer

Of course, no Sony State of Play is complete without a Final Fantasy trailer and the latest one is no different. We got a brand-new trailer for the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI which showcased new game footage with plenty of combat sequences, new characters, and more insights into the game’s story. Final Fantasy XVI is slated for release in the Summer of 2023. Additional details about the game will be revealed later. Check it out below:
