Codemasters Reveals F1 2020, Releasing This July

Codemasters has just announced their upcoming title in the Formula 1 game series, F1 2020. The game is set to release this summer on July 10 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will is also said to be available on Google Stadia as well.

Considering that real Formula 1 season for this year has been in the halts, the game can be a welcome addition to fans and the Formula 1 drivers alike. With the recent VirtualGP races featuring real Formula 1 drivers like Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, George Russel, Alex Albon, and Jenson Button, we might get to see the VirtualGP continue all throughout the year after the release of F1 2020.

All excitement aside, the game comes with a few new features this time around, including the two-player split-screen. The feature makes a comeback into the game, although it might have not been one of the most requested by fans.

The career side of the game will feature a new mode called My Team. This is a new mode will allow you to become the driver-manager of a team. This feature is something totally new in the series and seems to be the most interesting new addition so far. The game will also have different customizable options that are designed for newcomers. The settings can be matched to a player’s expertise, and will work in both F1 and F2 racing modes. Formula 2, which is now becoming a regular part of the game, is also confirmed in the trailer.

The last announcement regarding the game is the Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition of F1 2020 which will allow you to drive as the legendary Michael Schumacher himself in his four iconic cars. If that wasn’t enough, you will even get to see a unique podium celebration of Schumacher himself, along with themed car liveries. The four cars that are included in this Deluxe edition are:

  • 1991: Jordan 191
  • 1994: Benetton B194
  • 1995: Benetton B195
  • 2000: Ferrari F1-2000
