Weapons Guide – Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Below, you will find everything you need to know about weapons in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, such as where to find them, all weapons for all characters, and information on how to upgrade weapons in the game.
Where Are All The Weapons?
In the game, you’ll mostly find weapons in glowing purple chests. But, except for Cloud, each character has a weapon that you need to get differently, like doing a side quest or playing a mini-game. Some of these purple chests might be easy to miss but don’t worry.
After that part of the game, you can go back and buy the missing weapon from a shopkeeper in major areas like Gongaga Village or Kalm using Gil. But remember, this only works for weapons not tied to mini-games or side quests. For those, you still have to complete the tasks. Also, all characters except Cait Sith will find their last weapon in the final dungeon, the Temple of the Ancients. So, if you’re missing a weapon before reaching a point where you can’t go back, that’s why.

Leveling Up Weapons
The concept of “leveling up your weapons” can be confusing because the weapons have their own menu for upgrading. Unlike Final Fantasy 7 Remake, there isn’t a skill tree to upgrade each weapon separately. Instead, each character has a separate “weapon level” from their regular level. All the skill points you earn from leveling up contribute to one big skill tree, so you don’t need to worry about upgrading individual weapons. So just keep going into battles and your weapon will level up!
As you make your weapon stronger, you’ll gain access to new abilities called “weapon skills.” These can boost your stats, make certain moves more powerful, or give you other helpful advantages. You can use these skills on both the screen where you equip weapons and materials and the one where you upgrade weapons. Since each weapon has its own set of skills, it’s a good idea to experiment with various combinations to find what works best for how you like to play.
Best Weapon In FF7 Rebirth
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer because each weapon in the game has its own strengths and abilities. It depends on your playing style. Generally, the weapons you get later in the game tend to be stronger because they let you add more enhancements. For example, Cloud’s second-to-last weapon, the Igneous Saber, has a much higher physical attack power compared to his other weapons, but its magic attack power is lower. I prefer using this weapon for Cloud because I focus less on using magic with him. However, someone who likes using magic might choose Cloud’s third weapon, the Rune Blade, which has a very high magic attack power.
Each weapon also has unique abilities called “weapon skills,” so it’s really your choice. If you’re having trouble staying alive in battles, you might want a weapon that boosts your health points. If you’re good at blocking and countering attacks, you might prefer a weapon that enhances Cloud’s ability to deal damage in his punisher mode.
