Final Fantasy VII Remake Release Date Announced, Square Enix Reveals Gameplay Trailer

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Final Fantasy VII Remake finally got a gameplay trailer over at the Square Enix E3 2019 press conference. The conference featured detailed gameplay, combat, and abilities. In addition, different characters are also shown in the trailer. In addition, Square Enix also announced that the game will be releasing next year on 3 March 2020 on PlayStation 4.

Take a look at the gameplay trailer below:

Producer Yoshinori Kitase took to the stage and announce that the game will come in two Blu-Ray discs in total, with the city of Midgar alone taking up one entire disc. The original game itself can out on three CD discs.

Remaking Final Fantasy VII has allowed us to dive much deeper into the world and its characters than ever before. The game design was optimized for this title as well, and we anticipate two Blu-Ray discs’ worth of gameplay content. The first game in this project expands on the story of Midgar and is such an elaborate retelling that it’s become a solid standalone game in its own right.

We were then shown a demo of the remake’s combat. Standard attacks can be performed any time, which will then charge the ATB meters. Offering you the ability to unleash magic, techniques and new tactical mode.  Support characters in the game like Barrett can offer long range attacks, as this provides more dimensions to battle strategies.

In the end, we got to see an early boss fight from the original Final Fantasy 7. The battle showcased how players can switch between characters, especially when one character is trapped by enemies, and allowing the other character to free them.

Square Enix went on to detail the several limited edition versions for preorder. A Deluxe Edition of the game will contain an art book, steelbook case, and a mini soundtrack CD. The First Class Edition will contain a Cloud figurine as well.
