Fire Emblem: Three Houses is not only about combat but also building relationships with several other characters that the game offers. But first, you should get familiar with what house to choose and what the future holds for a character that you select. The game also offers a teaching system that comes with a lot of depth, but with a few mechanics that you can get used to pretty early.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses Beginner’s Guide

Below we have detailed everything you should know as a beginner in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

Choose Your House

There are three houses that you can choose in the game Black Eagles, Blue Lions and Golden Deer. Once you have decided on a house, it is best to look into the character stats of each of the student in the house. You should also keep an eye at the stat requirement over at the Advanced and Master Classes that will be available in the game. However, these are only unlocked once you reach level 20 and 30.

Keeping track of the stat requirement will give you an idea on what you need to develop each unit. This will give you an advantage when the characters reach level 20 and will need to pass the certification exams to unlock the Advanced and Master Classes.

Let’s say you are ready to decide on choosing the class suit you want for a character. For that, you need to take a look at each individual stat which will highlight which ones they are best at.

Teaching System

Teaching in Fire Emblem: Three Houses is an important feature that allows your unit to specialize with weapons to make them stronger or provide them buffs that can make them stronger. If you are looking to have your students get better with a weapon, you can start teaching lessons to make them better at it.

When you test your students, you can get the results as Perfect, Great, Good and Bad. These results will tell you how the characters are adapting with the weapon that they are studying. An easy example of this is that a unit that specializes in bows is being tutored about axes. This will obviously bring out a low scoring result.

You can then talk to your students to motivate them if they have a low score. This can help them excel in the type of weapon you want for your unit.

Monastery

There are also several other activities that you can engage in with the facilities the Monastery offers. You have the Dining Hall, which allows you to have meals together with your student and the co-faculty members.

Other activities Gardening, Fishing, Seminars, and Tournaments that you can participate in. Fishing allows you to trade fishes for gold at the shop and can be started by going to the pond to talk to the fishkeeper.

You can also grow crops and flowers at the greenhouse which will reward you with activity points. Talk to the greenhouse keeper who can give you seeds to begin growing plants.

Tournaments will offer you activities where you can join weapon-based combat. Tournaments include inter-house and open event where combatants will fight with pre-determined weapons in the arena.

Weapon Repairing

After every combat, you will notice that your weapon needs to be repaired. This is because weapons are made to degrade the more you use them. Keep track of your weapon’s durability after every combat.

You can also buy new weapons from the blacksmith and trade the old ones for a small amount. If you want to reduce spending too many durability points, you should focus on normal attacks instead of using your Abilities. This strategy works best for enemies that have a little health left and can be taken down with a few hits.

Divine Pulse

There is an option where you can rewind time to undo any mistake you need to correct. This can be done with the Divine Pulse. Using this feature will cost you charges.

How you use this feature is up to, but it is best to save it for times when the fight is getting out of your hands or if you decide that your units are in a vulnerable position and can die in the next counter-attack from the enemy.
