Newcore Games has announced the first major update for its 2.5D action platformer, The Devil Within: Satgat. This highly anticipated update introduces fan-requested features such as stage warping, new accessories, and boss challenge ratings with new rewards. To celebrate this milestone, The Devil Within: Satgat is currently on sale with a 15% discount until July 20, presenting an ideal opportunity for new players to explore the neo-futuristic world under siege by a demonic army.
Because of the extensive changes in this update, previous save file progress will not carry over. However, a prepared save file allowing players to start from the beginning of the 3rd stage in Mirabeol is available. Story-important items and Engrams will be in player inventories, but items tied to Steam achievements like Haetae, weapon enhancements, and Corruptor’s Memory Shards will need to be collected and cleared again.

The Devil Within: Satgat blends ancient and modern elements to create a captivating and puzzling environment as compelling as the mystery within. Players assume the role of Kim Rip, a member of the Royal Guard fighting the hordes of hell at the Emperor’s command. When the enigmatic Ebon Sting, a source of demonic power, erupts and begins corrupting the land, Kim Rip is tasked with uncovering the secrets of the strange tower. To defeat the devil, Kim Rip must harness the power of his fallen foes, risking his humanity in the process.
The First Major Update Includes:
- Stage Warping: Players can now warp between stages to grab missed collectibles or redo sections with more advanced power-ups.
- Boss Battle Difficulties: Players can adjust the challenge rating of boss fights starting with the first stage boss, Lee Choong, to earn different rewards upon completion.
- Improved Exploration: Many areas have been altered and improved to enhance the exploration aspect of the game, with hidden secrets to discover through newly refined maps.
- Elite Monsters: This update introduces special Elite Monsters. Defeating them rewards players with an abundance of Engrams and Silver Keys to open chests.
- New Accessories and Skins: Additional customization options for Kim Rip and his weapons.
- Bug Fixes and Patches: Minor bug fixes and patches to ensure smoother gameplay. Difficulty has also been scaled to better track player progress.
The Devil Within: Satgat is currently available on Steam in Early Access for $16.99 with a limited-time 15% discount until July 20. This major update not only enhances the game’s features but also provides a fresh and exciting experience for both new and returning players. The Devil Within: Satgat will also be featured at BitSummit in Kyoto between July 19 and 21, offering the first public hands-on PlayStation demo build.
