First PlayStation State of Play Recap – All Announcements and Trailers

State of Play August 2020

Sony just held the first ever PlayStation State of Play livestream and it showcased some new titles as well as some updates on the upcoming PS4 and PS VR titles. The livestream was nearly 25 minutes long and showcased some really cool titles. We have collected all the titles revealed in today’s State of Play Livestream and detailed them below so that you can check them out if you missed the livestream.

If you are not aware of what PlayStation State of Play is then you should know that earlier Sony announced that they will be skipping E3 this year. Instead of hosting a single press conference at E3 this year, Sony will be hosting numerous State of Play livestreams throughout the year which will give us information about new announcements, updates on current video games and more.

Sony held its first State of Livestream just now and below you will find everything announced during the livestream.

Iron Man VR Game for PS4

A totally new Iron Man VR game has been announced at the event, where players get to experience what it is like to be in an Iron Man suit, fly in the clouds and blast enemies.

The cinematic trailer was not the actual gameplay video, but it does give us a taste of what is to be expected of the game in VR. Some bits in the trailer shows actual gameplay which involves the shooting bit. Details of the game are scarce but it is to release this year in 2019.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled

The popular kart racing game was also given a little gameplay trailer of what is to be expected in the upcoming game. The video features many of the iconic kart racing characters in the Crash Bandicoot series.

Players can expect to compete against each other in many different and unique tracks, battle out each other, or knock them out with TNT. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is set to release on 21 June 2019.

No Man’s Sky Beyond

Hello Games has announced to bring out No Man’s Sky Beyond, which is a VR experience of the game on the PlayStation 4. The VR support will be out in an update that will totally be free for players. No Man’s Sky Beyond is expected to come out in Summer of 2019.

ReadySet Heroes

Developer Robot Entertainment has announced a new game for the PlayStation 4 called Readyset Heroes. The trailer features the gameplay of the fast-paced multiplayer game that packs a big twist.

Players can choose from multiple playable characters, from where they are launched into a randomly selected dungeon. Here you can slay monsters, dodge traps and collect loot. The twist is that you are competing with an identical team who is competing in the same arena. The team reaching the end of the dungeon first will be the winner.

The game is set to release later this year, though more details are expected to come out soon.

Blood & Truth

Blast your way through the London underworld in a spectacular PlayStation VR action thriller. Blood & Truth is developed by SIE London Studios and is coming out as a Sony Exclusive game for the PlayStation 4 VR. The game is set to release on 28 May 2019, while pre-orders are open now.

VR Titles for 2019

A bunch of VR titles have also been confirmed for release this year for the PlayStation 4 VR. These include Mini-Mech Mayhem (10 June), Jupiter & Mars (22 April), Falcon Age (9 April), Trevor Saves the Universe (31 May), Everybody’s Golf VR (21 May), Table of Tales (16 April), and Vacation Simulator (18 June).

Observation

Observation is a new sci-fi thriller and it is coming to PS4 on May 21, 2019. The game is set in a space station and we will be controlled the station’s A.I. called S.A.M. to find out what happened to Dr. Emma Fisher and her crew while they are out on a mission. It received a new story trailer at today’s livestream. You can check it out below.

Five Nights at Freddy’s VR Help Wanted

Five Nights at Freddy’s is returning but it is now back with a twist. The new title announced Five Nights at Freddy’s VR Help Wanted is played in VR and it brings back all the early titles combined in one game as well as some new horrors. The game will be completely playable in VR and it will add a new level of horror to the already spooky title. It is slated for release in Spring 2019. Check out the gameplay below.

Concrete Genie Release Window Announced

Concrete Jungle finally has a release window. The title is slated for release in Fall 2019. The release window was announced in a brand new story trailer for Concrete Genie which shows what the main story of the game will be all about. New Days Gone Gameplay Trailer

Days Gone is the most hyped PS4 exclusive releasing next month and today’s State of Play would have been incomplete without an update on Days Gone. Bend Studio has wrapped up all work on the title and it is now ready to ship however sadly we have to wait for the release date to finally play this amazing title. Check out the new Days Gone Story Trailer revealed in the livestream.

Mortal Kombat 11 Gameplay Trailer

Today’s State of Play livestream ended up with a brand new gameplay trailer of Mortal Kombat 11 which showed a lot of action, story and other cool Mortal Kombat 11 footage. The new trailer is dubbed Old Skool Vs. New Skool and we see fighters from the past fight the fighters in the present in a generational clash. The latest trailer also confirms Jax, Lu Kang and Kung Lao joining the roster of Mortal Kombat 11. Check it out below.
