Microsoft service brand has seen a couple of products in the recent few years. We have got the 2-in-1 devices such as the Surface Pro series as well as the Surface Book and we have got the Surface laptop as well and it seems that the next move will be foldable Microsoft Surface hardware.
Reports reveal that Microsoft is investing a lot of money into foldable hardware for Windows 10 and the surface brand. If this is indeed the case then it is more than possible that Microsoft is working with other companies to bring foldable Windows 10 devices to the market. When Windows 8 first released there were plenty of 2-in-1 devices from partner companies and you can expect to see the same this time as well.
A Windows 10 build for foldable devices is already in the works and a team is working on it as we speak. The team is most likely working on adapting Windows 10 to foldable devices and this could take a while but what we know for sure is that Microsoft is invested in foldable Windows 10 devices. This could mean that we might get foldable Microsoft Surface hardware in the future.
We have seen a couple of foldable hardware concepts this year as well as in the previous one and we also saw a few dual-screen devices. It is safe to say that foldable screens are not far from where we are right now and if they can be adapted to smartphones then there is no reason why they should not come to other devices as well.
You can expect to see devices from Intel, ARM and Google. Google has promised to support foldable devices natively and that means that there is going to be plenty of competition in this segment of the market but it will be interesting to see what this level of competition will bring us.
Microsoft is making major investments in hardware and the Xbox Scarlett might beat the PS5 in 2020.
