Microsoft just announced the release date for Gears 5. Gears 5 arrives on September 10 while Xbox Game Pass and Ultimate Edition owners will get early access on September 7. Gears 5 picks right where Gears of War 4 ended and this time around, we will be playing as Kate Diaz whose mother was the center of attention last time. This time around, the whole campaign is based around Kate and her visions from the Locust Queen.
Accompanying her are some familiar faces from Gears of War 4 and the character which is well known by the fans of franchise Marcus Fenix who will be helping her figure out what is going on in Kate’s mind. We will get to know more about what happened to the original Locust this time around because Gears of War 4 took a brand new direction for the franchise and much was left untold at the end of the previous game.

Apart from the new trailer for the story, a brand new three-player coop mode called Escape has also been revealed today which will allow three players to jump in a Hive and plant a bomb in it to destroy the hive. Apart from pre-built maps, players will be able to create their own maps as well and challenge other players from around the world to complete their level. Check it out below.
Microsoft also revealed the Terminator Dark Fate pack for Gears 5 which will bring Sarah Connor and the T-800 Endoskeleton from Terminator Dark Fate as playable characters in Gears 5. This DLC pack is a part of Xbox teaming up with Paramount Pictures.
Gears 5 is arriving on Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on September 10, 2019. Players who pre-order the Ultimate Edition or are Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play the game early on September 7, 2019.
