What is Resolve in Ghost of Tsushima
Resolve is essentially a collection of energy or stamina while you are in combat. This is denoted by three yellow bars right above your health bar. You must get Resolve before you can use it in combat for special moves. Some of the advanced attacks and moves in the game require Resolve so you can only use them unless you have enough Resolve at your hand. If you are running low on health, you can use Resolve to gain back some health as well.
How to Gain Resolve in Ghost of Tsushima
Resolve plays a vital role in combat and most of the actions that you perform during combat also grant you with a certain amount of Resolve. You can quickly gain some resolve with the help of the following methods:
Parry Enemy Attacks – Parrying is super helpful because it not only helps you deflect back incoming attacks but it also allows you to gain a massive amount of resolve in the game. To successfully parry an enemy attack, all you need to do is press L1 right before an enemy attack connects and you will successfully parry their attacks. This will give you resolve as well.
Killing Enemies – It goes without saying but during combat, every enemy that you defeat in the game will grant you with Resolve. The whole purpose of combat in Ghost of Tsushima is fighting and defeating your enemies so you will be pretty safe on this side with gaining as much Resolve as possible.
Completing Standoffs – A rather new mechanic in Ghost of Tsushima is standoffs. During combat, you can initiae standoffs which are one-on-one fights with your enemies. Sometimes this could even have more than one enemies in the same standoff. Your ultimate goal here remains the same is to defeat your enemies. Do so, and you will easily gain a large number of Resolve.
