Standoff Guide – Ghost of Tsushima

Our Ghost of Tsushima Standoff Guide details everything that you need to know about Standoffs in Ghost of Tsushima.

Initiating and Winning a Standoff in Ghost of Tsushima

During fighting your enemies, you will often get involved in a Standoff. Standoffs allow you to finish off the enemies with a single hit and they give you a good amount of resolve as well. This little mini-game will let you finish off an enemy with a single hit no matter how much their health is. You can initiate a standoff at any time during combat by going closer to enemies and then pressing the up key on the D-Pad. This can also be done from stealth.

Once the standoff has started, all you need to do is wait for your opponent to swing at you and once they do, release the triangle at the right moment to kill them instantly. This will allow you to kill the enemy in one hit. Once it is over, you will go back to the normal attack sequence of the game and challenge other enemies to standoffs and finish them off as well. If you are planning to gather Resolve quickly, start killing enemies with standoffs and you will soon be sitting with a full Resolve meter.
