Despite several rumors, Sony Santa Monica has cleared that God of War Ragnarok is still coming out in 2022. God of War Ragnarok is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed God of War released back in 2018. The game is set in Norse Mythology with a new start for Kratos and his son Atreus. While this is not confirmed at this point, God of War Ragnarok could be the conclusion to the story that began in the first story.
This news was confirmed by the Community and Social Manager at Sony Santa Monica on her Twitter account. No confirmed window or release date was revealed however we now know that the studio is aiming for a 2022 release of the title. As of now, all of the rumors and speculations are pointing to a 2022 release for the game however delays can always happen and if the studio thinks it is good for the game, we might see God of War Ragnarok release this year at all.

Sony Santa Monica confirmed the development of God of War Ragnarok back in September 2020 as a direct sequel to the first God of War. The original release date announced for the game was 2021 however later, the game was pushed into 2022 during Sony’s PlayStation Showcase. Since then, fans have been waiting for any sort of new update or information about the game however the studio has been awfully quiet about it. This is the first time that someone from the studio has given an official update about the title’s release window.
God of War Ragnarok will release both on PS4 and PS5 sometime in 2022 and currently talks are underway for developing an Amazon TV series for God of War as well. No news has been announced regarding this as well however make sure that you check back to see if there is any new development on this. The original God of War was also released for PC last year.
