Beginner’s Guide – Hitman 3
Out Hitman 3 Beginner’s Guide details everything that you need to know starting your Agent 47 adventure in Hitman 3 for the very first time.
Pick Your Difficulty Accordingly
While it may be tempting to start your assassination journey at the highest possible difficulty for the very first time, we will suggest that you start slow with the game and choose at least Normal difficulty for your initial playthrough. Ever since the Hitman franchise was rebooted in 2016, the maps have been really big, and they offer tons of opportunities for you to find in each level. For this very purpose, it is important that your first playthrough is on a lower difficulty so that you can make yourself comfortable with each level first.
This will allow you to learn all the hidden paths, secrets, and any other useful thing in the level before you ramp up the difficulty and try that same mission again. Since there are not tons of missions in the game, you can easily play the same level multiple times so even if you have to retry a level again to find some more paths and secrets a second time around, you can do it easily. Once you’ve mastered the level and have found all possible outcomes and assassination spots, aim for the highest difficulty and take out your targets like the most professional hitman.
Complete Challenges in Locations
Each location offers a unique level which comes with plenty of challenges for you to complete. There is no difficulty requirement for these challenges however some challenges are much harder on their own when compared to other challenges of a location. These challenges provide an excellent way to earn XP in the game. The harder the challenge, the more XP is granted to you. While they are not compulsory for the completion of the level, it always helps to earn some extra XP while completing your missions. The more challenges you complete in any location, the more you progress towards the location mastery of that particular location.
Stealth Should be Your Friend in Missions
Stealth is a key characteristic of any professional hitman and it should be yours too. Each mission in Hitman 3 can be completed completely in stealth without killing any enemies on the level. You do not have to kill anyone. The game allows you to non-lethally knock out enemies as well and take their disguises in the game without any killing. If you are trying the mission for the first time, you should try to be as stealthy as possible. Avoid direct confrontations, use disguises, and avoid running, and do not ever take out a weapon in public because they instantly give away your cover in front of enemies. Try to blend in as much you can and only resort to violence when you really have to.
For staying in stealth, you can use many other methods at your disposal as well. Always make sure that you are not recorded at the different number of security cameras around the levels. They are more near your target areas so even if you are wearing a disguise, the cameras will record you still. When it happens, a message will pop up on the screen. When you see this, look for the central server and wipe out the tapes. You can also use your flashy new portable camera to hack devices that may reveal your true identity. It also allows you to distract enemies as you can hack devices to play sounds or video that distracts enemies near them. These are essential for remaining in stealth.
Unlock Shortcuts in Levels
While this is a tip that I give to Dark Souls and Bloodborne players, it works here in Hitman 3 as well because Hitman 3 now allows you to unlock shortcuts that help you out in the long run. The best part about these shortcuts is that you have them unlocked even if you leave the level and come back to the level later, the shortcuts are still open. This is one of the reasons why I suggested to first try out the levels at a lower difficulty as you can open up different shortcuts that can be later used for making the mission easier at higher difficulties Make use of your initial playthroughs as much as you can and unlock as many shortcuts as you can.
Instinct is Your Hidden Weapon
There is one thing that Agent 47 has and that none of the other enemies in the game possesses and that is his Instinct. Instinct allows you to scan your environment which reveals all of the enemies around you along with any other object or item with which you can interact with. This has been a normal part of all Hitman titles and it has now found its way into Hitman 3 as well. Every time when you enter a new room or environment, make sure that you scan it quickly in order to mark out the enemies from the crowd and to see all other items or objects to interact with.
Always Choose Custom Loadouts
While the default loadout is pretty much enough for your mission, a professional hitman always takes his own custom loadout into the missions. Make sure that you always tinker with your loadout before heading into a mission. If something cannot fit in your pocket, you can have them placed on the map as well in Agency’s stashes. Once you have arrived at a location, you can continue to use the default loadout or change how the missions go. Your inventory space is only limited while starting the mission.
