We previously reported that Horizon Zero Dawn might be heading to PC this year as revealed by Kotaku’s Jason Schreier. However, today we have another source which further confirms that Horizon Zero Dawn is indeed coming to PC. This was spotted at ResetEra where a user called Stygr stated that Amazon France listed Horizon Zero Dawn officially for PC however the page has now been taken down from listing.
Stygr was, however, quick to take a picture of Amazon France page and we have it right below for you as well which clearly lists Horizon Zero Dawn as a PC release.
The listing says Horizon Zero Dawn by Sony and the platform is mentioned as PC. This further confirms that Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC sometime later this year. Both Guerilla Games and Sony have been awfully quiet about this and there has been no official talk about a PC release so far. However, in his report, Jason mentioned that the news was confirmed to him by 3 sources working at Sony.
Previously, Hideo Kojima announced that his highly anticipated release Death Stranding will also release on PC in 2020. A confirmed release date has not been announced yet, however, Hideo Kojima was not the first developer to announce that a PS4 exclusive is heading to PC. Earlier, we saw Quantic Dream bring their entire library of PS4 and PS3 exclusive titles to PC. It appears that following the footsteps of Microsoft, Sony might be bringing its exclusives to PC as well.
At this point, nearly all first-party Xbox One exclusives are available on PC via Windows 10. Only some titles such as Vigor is currently available exclusively on Xbox One only because their developer intended them to be exclusive. Sony has been extremely closed about even allowing cross-platform gameplay for a long time before finally opening up to cross-platform gameplay.
There is still no official information on Horizon Zero Dawn coming on PC so this still should be taken with a grain of salt. Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding uses Guerilla Games’ Decima engine which was used in Horizon Zero Dawn as well. This could mean that the engine is extremely PC friendly and thus they want to bring Horizon Zero Dawn to PC as well. Keep checking back as we will update you if an official update comes along.
