Intercept Games has released the latest video for their title Kerbal Space Program 2 which showcases how the development team recorded real rocket sounds for use in their upcoming title. The developer is aiming to bring players closer to rocketry reality like never before through powerful, breathtaking audio recordings of a live Delta V rocket launch. The audio team of the game was invited by United Launch Alliance and Boeing to record a live rocket launch and in the video, Kerbal Space Program 2’s Audio Director Howard Mostrom goes behind the scenes to share how it all went.
Check out the video below before we jump into additional details:
The video shows Howard Mostrom’s tour to Boeing’s Starliner facility to record highly detailed ambient audio of the machinery that makes space-flight possible. The video shows how the team arrives on-site 23 hours before the launch to arrange over a dozen microphones around an Atlas rocket set. As the rocket launch comes near and it eventually launches into the sky, Mostrom manages to extract every sound possible from the entire experience and now these sounds will find their way into Kerbal Space Program 2 where players will be able to hear them as they launch their own rockets into the sky.
Kerbal Space Program 2 is going above and beyond to craft an immersive, exhilarating simulation experience that pays tribute to the real science and ingenuity behind every rocket. It is slated for an early access release next month on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and other digital storefronts and the game will spend the next few months of development in this stage where the developers will continue work on the game alongside fan feedback.
Kerbal Space Program 2 will release in Early Access on PC on February 24, 2023. A Steam page and Epic Games Store page are now live where you can add the game to your wishlist right now.
