Microsoft Hints at Xbox Game Pass – May Come on PC Platform

Game Pass Coming to PC

Xbox Game Pass launched in last summer on Xbox One. The service gives access to exclusive Xbox One games, new first-party games and other multiplatform games of Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The library has grown now over 200 titles with this month Forza Horizon 4 joining in the Xbox Game Pass service.

The service charges are  £7.99/$10 USD for a month subscription. If you are currently subscribed to the service then you have access to Microsoft’s Play Anywhere games, both on Xbox One and PC. Meaning, for one, if you are a member of the service in the month of October, you can play Forza Horizon 4 free either on Xbox One or on PC.

However, on PC Platform, players are restricted to only Microsoft’s Play Anywhere scheme games. They can not access any third-party games that are available on Xbox One Game Pass. Those games remain titled to domain of Xbox alone.

According to CEO Satya Nadella, Xbox Game Pass may come on PC platform. She said:

Xbox has the key gaming community and the monetisation capabilities. Whether it’s first-party games or third-party games, we are best-in-class in that monetisation and that’s what’s reflected in the results

Also:

So given that structural position, we are going to make sure that we keep increasing the strength of the community. You see that already with Minecraft going to all platforms and that increasing the intensity of the community and you’ll see us do more of that. Obviously, bringing Game Pass to even the PC is going to be a big element of that

Xbox Game Pass is growing since launch, in terms of game library and player base subscribing the service. Only if PC users could get a similar service like Xbox Game Pass or the service itself, the player base will increase two fold for sure.
