MultiVersus Has Crossed Over 20 million Players Since Its Launch

Warner Bros. Games have announced that its new free-to-play platform fighter MultiVersus has crossed over 20 million players since its open beta launch. MultiVersus was launched in its open beta form back on Jul 26, 2022, and since then, the game has received much appraise from fans and critics alike. Because of this, less than a month after its open beta launch, the title managed to reach a massive milestone of 20 million players across all platforms.

Developed by Player First games and published by Warner Bros. Games, MultiVersus is a team-based 2v2 platform fighter that features characters from a wide range of franchises including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn; Shaggy and Velma (Scooby-Doo); Bugs Bunny and Tasmanian Devil a.k.a. Taz (Looney Tunes); Arya Stark (Game of Thrones); Tom & Jerry (Tom and Jerry); Jake the Dog and Finn the Human (Adventure Time); Steven Universe and Garnet (Steven Universe); Iron Giant (The Iron Giant), LeBron James (Space Jam: A New Legacy); an extraordinary original creature named Reindog.

The latest character to arrive in MultiVersus is Morty Smith from Rick and Morty. Morty Smith is the grandson of the mega-genius scientist Rick Sanchez who will arrive in the game after some time as well. Morty arrives as a Bruiser class character and his moveset features a mix of skills and attacks. His left arm is muscle-enhanced Armothy and he is also equipped with Plumbus, the all-purpose alien device. One of his abilities includes him whipping himself at opponents and using various projectiles to deal damage to them. He has a President Morty character variant as well which can be purchased in the game separately.

The next set of characters announced for arrival in MultiVersus includes Black Adam (DC), Stripe (Gremlins), Rick Sanchez (Rick and Morty), and many other heroes and personalities. This will also include new modes such as Classic Arcade and Ranked modes as part of Season 1 which is currently live in the game along with a Battle Pass.

MultiVersus Open Beta is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game supports cross-play and dedicated server-based rollback netcode for robust online competition.
