A brand new assault rifle is soon making its way into the Fortnite Battle Royale, and it is called the Heavy Assault Rifle. Since the weapon is supposedly coming soon, it is not clear when exactly it will be released for players.
The addition of the new Heavy Assault Rifle will bring the total number of assault rifles to 8. It will also be joining in with the other rifles such as the Burst Rifle, M4, Suppressed Rifle, Scoped Rifle, Thermal Rifle, and SCAR.
The new Heavy Assault Rifle is designed to look like the AK-47 of the real world, where Fortnite promises high damage to opponents who will have this weapon in their inventory. The official description adds in a little info about the rifle:
Powerful Assault Rifle that is most useful when fired in short bursts.
The information hints that this may be a burst rifle sort of weapon that doesn’t rely on spraying bullets sort of attack. In addition, it also looks to be a Legendary rarity weapon, which will be found in Supply Drops and Chests.
This is the third weapon introduced in this season alone of Fortnite Battle Royale. Previously, players were given 2 new weapons; the Quad Launcher and Six Shooter. The Quad Launcher is a rocket launcher that fires 4 rockets one after the other for devastating damage on the opponent and their buildings. The Six Shooter is a pistol that seems to be the alternative of the original revolver pistols that was previously vaulted in the previous seasons.
The only question that arises from the announcement is what weapon will be vaulted to make place for this Heavy Assault Rifle? We will surely find out very soon.
As mentioned before, the date of when this weapon will be added is not confirmed yet, but we and assume that it will be coming in the next couple of days.
