New World Factions Guide

Before we dive deep into the details about factions and their missions, let’s first show you what options you have and what is the best Faction to choose.

How to Choose and Join a Faction

As mentioned above, there are 3 different types of Factions. Each of the three factions has their own Perks and different missions. In addition, each Faction has their own agenda ranging from brute force, to a group that believes in justice. The best faction boils down to what you seek in the game or what you prefer. However, the game gives you the option to swap factions after at least 120 days.

The Marauders are a military group of individuals who believe in brute force and making a strong nation where people can prosper and profit. If you like to be in group that lets the weapon do the talking, then consider them your pick.

If you seek knowledge more than being in the conflict, you have the secretive group of The Syndicate, who are in search for the forbidden knowledge that will lead to a new era of enlightenment.

Lastly, you have the Covenant which strongly believes in justice and to fight with conviction for righteousness. Unlike the Marauders, the Covenant believes in fighting for what is the right and just thing.

To join a Faction, you need to play enough o reach Level 10 by completing the various game missions. When you do reach Level 10, the game will automatically bring you to the point where you are introduced to the factions and asked to choose which one you seek to join.

How to Change Factions

Once you have joined a Faction, you are not permanently tied to it forever. This is because the game gives you a choice immediately if you decide to change to another faction.

However, once you have swapped at least once, you can only change factions after 120 days have passed. This can be done by going to the Bio menu and selecting the Faction you now want to join.

Faction Missions and Rewards

The main purpose of Factions is to provide you all sorts of gameplay missions and reward you with items that will help you progress in the story. After joining a faction of your choice, you will be given PvP and PvE missions.

PvE missions range from hunting animals, assassinations, gathering resources, and crafting resources. Completing these missions give you faction rewards such as rare weapons, gear and items. Having said that, completing PvE missions also give you faction Tokens and Reputation.

Moving on to the other types of missions which involve you fighting against other players, the PvP missions give you Influence as well as Reputation. Missions range from delivering items and messages to gathering intel and patrolling areas. The more you successfully complete these missions, the more Influence and Reputation you will obtain to reinforce your faction’s control over a territory, but make it a bigger target for opponents.

How to Farm Faction Tokens

Faction Tokens are optioned by completing both the PvP and PvE missions that the Factions give you. The best way to get Faction Tokens is by fighting against other players, which makes sense as these missions are going to be the more difficult ones.

Having said that, competing in missions against other players is not the only way you can get Tokens. There are several missions that don’t necessarily involve other players and have a more manageable objective where you need to find and craft resources, or if you go hunt a certain animal.
