Nioh 2 Death Guide – How to Manage Death, Retrieving Graves

Nioh 2 Death Guide

In this Nioh 2 Death Guide, we will guide you on how you can manage your death in Nioh 2. Similar to the first game, Nioh 2 has a very steep difficulty curve and you will die quite often while playing the game. The boss battles apart, even normal enemies can easily chop you down if you are not careful enough in the game. In addition, as much as death is common in Nioh 2, the game really punishes you if you keep dying in Nioh 2.

We have curated this Nioh 2 Death Guide in which we have detailed what you should do if you die and how you can revert back to the previous state when you die. Luckily, it is not as harsh as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice but still if you’ve made a lot of progress in the game and then you die, you are still in for a shock if you are unable to get to your grave and retrieve all your lost items.

Death Guide – Nioh 2

Our Nioh 2 Death Guide details everything that you need to know about death in Nioh 2.

Managing Death

When your health reaches zero, you die in Nioh 2. When you die in Nioh 2, chances are that you are pretty far from a shrine and any other safe location. Upon your death, you will leave a gravestone at the location where you die. This gravestone will have your Amrita and your Guardian Spirit. Typical to all other games of this nature, you must go back to this spot and interact with the gravestone to get your Amrita and Guardian Spirit back.

However, depending on your scenario, this could be a huge risk as you might die before reaching that spot. If you die before you interact with your grave, you will lose all your Amrita. If you want to opt for a safer way to get your Amrita and Guardian Spirit back after you die is to use Summoners candles. These candles will allow you to recall your Amrita and Guardian Spirit from any grave back to you no matter how far it is.

The final way allows you to recall your Guardian Spirit only. When you are at a shrine, you can call back your Guardian Spirit from the gravestone back to your location however if you opt for this process, you will always lose your Amrita. If the amount is small, you can use this method but if you lost a large amount of Amrita, you should always try to head back and collect it yourself.

This is all that you need to know about managing Death in Nioh 2. If you need more help with the game, make sure to check the guides below as well.
