Bait and Nutrient Processor
Bait is needed to attract a creature or animal that you want to tame. Start with finding of things that you have discovered and can be used as bait. This can be done when you scan and animal and it will display its bait preferences. From here, go to Options, Catalogue, and then Cooking Products which will display everything that you know of that can be used as bait.
In order to make the Nutrient Processor, you need to first get Faecium. This can be done by creating Creature Pellets with Carbon and then feeding to animals. This will make them excrete Faecium that can be collected.
With the Faecium in hand, you can now produce bait with the help of the Nutrient Processor. This can be built with the following ingredients:
- 1 Hermetic Seal
- 2 Metal Plates
- 25 Sodium
Once the Nutrient Processor is built, you now need to find Frozen Tuboids and Harvestable Plants. With these materials and the Faecium you have from before, you can now combine them in the Nutrient Processor to make the type of bait you want. This is the bait with which you can then attract Herbivores.
How to Tame and Ride Animals
You can now use Enzyme Fluid as bait to attract Herbivore animals. This is the first step to start your taming process and to make the animals your friend. Open up your Utilities Menu and then throw some bait nearby. This will attract animals towards your position.
From here, you can either mount them by following the on screen button instruction, or you can go to collect milk or eggs. If you decide to mount the animal, you will be able to ride the animal for as long as you want, and set out to explore what the planet has to offer.
Scanning an animal will inform you about the type of bait you need in order to attract the animal. You can then use this information to collect the right type of resources, and then create the bait in the Nutrient Processor. This is the basic way of creating bait, and then using it to attract animals in order to mount and ride them, or use them to collect eggs or milk.
