According to the latest rumors, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is rumored to be launching in January 2021 in order to compete against AMD’s newest flagship card, the Radeon RX 6900 XT. The news comes from HKEPC which a Chinese tech website and according to them, we can expect huge specification boosts for the RTX 3080 Ti at a competitive price to match AMD’s $999 flagship RX 6900 XT.
According to the new report from HKEPC, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will be equipped with GA102-250-KD-A1 GPU and will have 10496 CUDA cores. However, the CUDA core count is currently unconfirmed. Details from Kopite7kimi suggest that the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition graphics card will feature the PG133-SKU15 PCB design.
Coming to the VRAM, it is rumored that the RTX 3080 Ti will have 20 GB of GDDR6X memory running at the same memory speeds as the RTX 3080 at 19 Gbps. Currently rumored specifications say that the card will have a 320-bit bus interface for a total bus bandwidth of 760 GB/s.
The total graphics power of the RTX 3080 Ti is estimated at 320W which is the same as the RTX 3080. HKEPC reports that 3080 Ti will lack the NVLINK connector which is currently found only on the RTX 3090. These specifications almost match the RTX 3090 but at a lower price point. The card would almost certainly run at lower clock speeds but we will have to wait how it stacks against the RTX 3090.
With all these beefy specifications, we can expect the RTX 3080 Ti to tackle the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT but we do not know if NVIDIA plans to offer the RTX 3080 Ti at a higher price point than the RTX 3080 or reduce the prices of the RTX 3080 and 3070. Currently, we can only guess what the price of RTX 3080 Ti will be but it will most probably be in the 900 to 1000 USD range.
