It was rumored that the mid-range and entry-level cards would not be part of the RTX series and that seems to be the case according to the latest reports. It seems that Nvidia GTX 1160 is in the works and will be released in January. This will most likely be alongside the RTX 2060. Similarly, the 2050 will not be part of the RTX series but will most likely be called the GTX 1150.
Expreview claims that the upcoming model will be called 1660 Ti but Video Cardz claims that will be called 1160 instead. The later makes more sense keeping in mind that Pascal series was the 10 series. The marketing material that we have included here mentions Turing Shaders but nothing about Ray Tracing, which will be exclusive to the RTX cards and will be the major difference between the two families.

I have already talked about the RTX 2060 and that it might not be worth getting, keeping in mind how the RTX 2070 performs in Battlefield V.
This information is not surprising and it is what PC enthusiasts were expecting to see. We already know that 2050 will not be part of the RTX series and that Nvidia would have to adjust the graphics card under another series. All that turned out to be true.
It is interesting to see that both the GTX 1160 and RTX 2060 will come with Turing GPUs. While the RTX 2060 will use the TU106-200 GPU, the GeForce GTX 1160 will most likely use the TU116 instead.
The Nvidia GTX 1160 should come with 6 GB of GDDR6 memory just like the other cards in the series. Other than that there is little that we can say. There is nothing that we know about pricing or specifications but it will be interesting to see how different the Nvidia GTX 1160 will be when compared to the performance of the RTX 2060.
Let us know what you think about the Nvidia GTX 1160 and whether or not you would be interested in getting this card over the RTX 2060.
