The first picture of an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 series Mobile GPU has surfaced online. The picture shows the mobile GPU for the GeForce RTX 3070 based on the Ampere Architecture. The picture of the mobile RTX 3070 GPU was spotted on Chinese NGA forums and was discovered by Twitter user @9550pro.

The Leaked Picture shows a Qualification sample of NVIDIA’s Ampere line of mobility GPUs which may be hitting the laptop market soon. The picture shows the first GeForce RTX 3000 series mobile GPU, the GA104 Ampere based GeForce RTX 3070.

The GA104 GPU die measures at 395.2mm2 and features 17.4 Billion transistors. The GPU pictured also features the GN20-E5-A1 Qualification Sample codename and was manufactured around mid of August (2020) as made evident by the markings over the die.

The image also shows SK Hynix’s latest GDDR6 memory that operates at a low voltage of 1.2V. The memory pictured along the mobile GA104 GPU features SK Hynix made-memory with the “H56C8H24AIR” product codename and according to its specifications, it operates at 12.00 Gb/s memory speeds.

The GeForce RTX 3070 mobile GPU has specs close to the desktop RTX 3070. The GeForce RTX 3070 mobile features 8 GB of memory along with a 256-bit wide interface that will be able to deliver up to 384 GB/s of bandwidth which is slightly lower than the 448.00 GB/s bandwidth of the desktop RTX 3070.

Currently, the detailed specifications for the mobile version of the RTX 3070 are not known. The Desktop RTX 3070 features 8 GB of GDDR6 memory and 5,888 CUDA cores. The RTX 3070 has a boost clock of 1.73 GHz and uses a 256-bit bit bus. The RTX 3070 has a TDP of 220W which is reasonable compared to the 3090 and 3080. It requires one 8-pin PCIe power connector to operate.

We can expect the performance of the RTX 3070 to match the GeForce RTX 2080Ti which would make the RTX 3070 mobility a very fast solution for the gaming laptop segment. The RTX 3070 will be available to purchase in October. We can expect the announcement of the GeForce RTX 3000 series mobile lineup around the end of the year.
