Sony has just released the first-ever PlayStation 5 game box art for one of its upcoming games on the next-gen console. Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales is one of the confirmed games for the PS5 and we just got a look at what physical disk boxes will look like.
Besides the beautiful Spider-Man cover featuring Miles Morales, we got to see a very similar-looking game disc casing for PlayStation 5 games. The blue plastic disk case is pretty much what the current-gen PlayStation 4 cases look like, and the size of the casing looks to be the same as well. The only difference is the white strip labeling PS5 at the top of the cover as opposed to PS4’s dark blue strip.
There were many speculations going around that Sony would overhaul the look of the disc covers to compliment the console itself. It seems Sony does not intend to go overboard with every new design they can think of and has stuck to the best design that has worked for them over the years. Besides, having the same shape of disc covers in your collection will also look pretty nice, and can be differentiated with the white label to not confuse you with your PS4 games.
Sony has pretty much revealed every major thing regarding the upcoming PlayStation 5, from the technical aspects of the console and its capabilities to its DualSense controllers and the console reveal itself. The only thing missing, which is the biggest question right now is the console price. Sony is still quiet about the price of the console which is expected to cost more than the PS4.
Some speculate the console to cost $500, others are pushing it to more than $600. Nonetheless, we can only wait for any price reveal of the console in the near future.
