New Pokemon Trading Card Game Expansion Sword & Shield – Lost Origin Announced

The Pokemon Company International has announced the next expansion of the Pokemon Trading Card game called Sword & Shield – Lost Origin. The new expansion will release on September 9, 2022, and will be available at participating retailers around the world. The expansion is a further expansion of the Pokemon Sword & Shield expansion which was released recently for the game.

With the launch of Sword & Shield – Lost Origin, the Lost Zone mechanic will make its Sword & Shield Series debut and it is expected to shake up the Pokemon Trading Card game metagame. The Lost Zone mechanic is similar to the discard pile, but players will not be able to recover from these cards during gameplay. Lost Zone will feature special cards such as Giratina VSTAR will feature a shadowy aura emanating from the artwork.

Sword & Shield - Lost Origin

In addition, Sword & Shield – Lost Origin expansion will be based on the newest Pokemon game Pokemon Legends: Arceus and will feature additional Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR and Hisuian Goodra VSTAR, along with additional Radiant Pokemon such as Radiant Gardevoir. Radiant Pokemon will also feature Shiny Pokemon illustrated in etched artwork and will also have a powerful Ability or attack.

  • Noteworthy cards from the expansion will include:
  • Three new Radiant Pokémon
  • Six Pokémon VSTAR
  • 14 Pokémon V and one Pokémon VMAX
  • 30 cards with artwork featuring fan-favorite Trainers and Pokémon in the Trainer Gallery subset

The Sword & Shield – Lost Origin Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box is available right now for preorder exclusively from the Pokemon Center in the US, Canada, and the UK. Pokemon Trading Card game previously received the Astral Radiance and the latest expansion Pokemon Go is releasing soon on July 1, 2022. It will feature photorealistic artwork for a more natural playing experience and the game Pokemon Go will also receive special in-game events to celebrate its launch.
