PS5 is in development right now at Sony and it is supposed to release in 2020. Sony has not talked about the upcoming console much but we know that if the Xbox Scarlett is in development then Sony has a new console in the works as well.
It has been a great year for Sony and we got impressive games like Detroit: Become Human, Marvel’s Spider-Man and God of War on the PS4. Sony has an unannounced game in the works and according to the company the upcoming game will focus on “next chapter of cinematic storytelling.”
There are several listings for jobs dedicated to the game and the description for the Senior Gameplay Animator mentions the following:
This high visibility project is being developed in collaboration with a major Sony development studio. Though currently unannounced, we have a clear vision and plan to release. The new game development team will leverage our existing expertise and premier talent, guaranteeing a high visual quality bar for the title.
The jobs are for Sony’s internal San Diego studio and from what we know so far, the team has the development nailed down already. It will be interesting to see what Sony is working on. This is most likely a new franchise that the company is working on.
This is speculation on our part and there is a chance that this could be a new game for a current franchise. It will be interesting to see what this game will be. Death Stranding is also an upcoming game that is going to release for the PS4 but there is no confirmed release date for the game right now. Speculations and rumors would have us believe that the game will be out this year.
