There is a lot of hype around PS5 and the next Xbox. These are going to be the next generation consoles that will take things to the next level. New patents have revealed that PS5 could come with PSVR 2 that will be wireless. Reports also claim that the console could come with deep learning features as well. This is all very interesting but you need to take this with a grain of salt as nothing has been confirmed and might not be part of the final design when the PS5 releases.
PSVR 2 will support 60 GHz wireless signal which is great for short distances but can cause issues over longer distances and that is why the device will also have a 5 GHz signal as a backup. You can check out the concept below:
GearNuke explained how this technology would work and the following is what the publication had to say in this regard:
The patent isn’t really for a Wireless PS VR tech as per se, but instead a technology that automatically switches wireless frequencies to ensure a constant connection even while the user is moving around. The patent showcases the PS VR breakout box transmitting between 5GHz and 60GHz wireless signals to the headset from the console. As 60GHz signals are more linear and faster but have a shorter range, 5GHz is used as a backup to maintain connection when the 60GHz signal is expected to cut out.
We are not sure how deep learning is going to work on the PS5 but I would like to think that the console will learn about the games and applications that the users use on a daily basis and would be able to pre-load them in advance so that they load faster when they are used. That would be a very interesting feature indeed.
I would also like to see the exclusion of all the languages from the games. If you are only using the English language then all the other languages that come with the game is just additional data that needs to be download. If this kind of selective downloading could be implemented then people could be able to play games much faster and be able to save storage as well.
Sony has stopped making the PS Vita and it is officially dead. Jim Ryan has now been appointed the President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment and the company has confirmed that it will not be coming to E3 2019.
Let us know what features you would like to see in the upcoming PS5 and whether or not you would be interested in a wireless PSVR 2.
