In this Resident Evil 2 Remake All File Locations, we will show you where you can collect all the Files in the game. Files are collectibles that need to be collected in order to unlock the “Read all of the Files” trophy / achievement.

Resident Evil 2 Remake has two playthroughs for both the playable characters; Leon and Claire. Each playthrough may contain a collectible that may not be present in the other playthrough.

In order to get all the Files, and to unlock the trophy, you need to play both the playthroughs with both the playable characters in the game. To help you with this, we have located all the Files and how you can get them.

Resident Evil 2 Remake All File Locations

Below we have listed all the Files and where you can find them. We have also pointed out which playthrough the File cab be obtained from. In total, there are 58 Files in the game that can be collected.

The order in which we have numbered the Files are in sequence to the story progression, and likely will be in the same order of your progression.

Leon’s First Playthrough

There are 40 Files in this Playthrough

File # 1 – Orientation Letter

This File can be found automatically in Leon’s inventory. You can read the File after you exit the shopping area.

File # 2 – Officer’s Notebook

This File can be found in the Watchman’s Room on the first floor of the Police Station. This File is picked up automatically, so it can’t be missed.

File # 3 – Record of Events

This File can be found in the Operations Room on the first floor of the Police Station. The Room will be on the northwest side of the station.

File # 4 – Uses of Gunpowder

This File can be found placed on a desk of the West Office in the first floor of the Police Station.

File # 5 – Operation Report

This File can be found on the side of the long desk that is in the West Office, first floor of the Police Station.

File # 6 – Rookie’s First Assignment

This File can be found on the same long desk of the West Office, first floor of the Police Station.

File # 7 – Storage Locker Terminal

This File can be found next to the code terminal in the Safety Deposit Room on the first floor of the Police Station.

File # 8 – Medical Benefits or Herbs

This File can be found right next to the typewriter on the box in the Dark Room of the first floor Police Station.

File # 9 – Portable Safe Instructions

This File can be found in the room where you are supposed to place a valve, in the Shower Room on the second floor of the Police Station.

File # 10 – To any survivors

This File can be found at the end of the hallway before you enter the West Storage Room, on the third floor of the Police Station.

File # 11 – Some Guy’s Scribbling

This File can be found on the table where you might have picked up an Inventory Upgrade. This is in the West Storage Room on the third floor of the Police Station.

File # 12 – Guide Pamphlet

This File can be found on the counter of the Waiting Room on the second floor of the Police Station.

File # 13 – Art Article “The Red Stone”

This File can be found in the room with the statue, sitting on the chair. This is all in the Art Room on the second floor of the Police Station.

File # 14 – Internal Memo

This File can be found next to the Battery Key item behind a desk, in the S.T.A.R.S Office on the second floor of the Police Station.

File # 15 – Memo “Jail Power Panel”

This File can be found at the end of the Jail next to Ben’s Cell on the B1 level of the Police Station.

File # 16 – Autopsy Record 53477

This File can be found inside the Morgue right after you go through the Kennel, in the Morgue of the B1 level of the Police Station.

File # 17 – Equipment Disposal Notice

This File can be found in side the Firing Range table in the Firing Range of the B1 level Police Station

File # 18 – A Message from Mr. Raccoon

This File can be found on the counter of the Firing Range, B1 Level of the Police Station.

This File can be found on a shelf in the Observation Room on the first floor of the Police Station.

File # 20 – Letter to S.T.A.R.S Members

This File can be found in the Armory of the S.T.A.R.S Room on the second floor of the Police Station. Here is also where you find a Weapon.

This File can be found in the Clock Tower on the third floor of the Police Station. The file will be right in front of you as you enter the Clock Tower.

File # 22 – Ben’s Memo

This File can be found inside Ben’s Cell that is in the Jail of the B1 Level of the Police Station.

File # 23 – Interview Transcript

This File can be found inside Ben’s Cell. You get it automatically from Ben’s body.

File #24 – Sept. Inspection (Week 1)

This File can be found in the Ada’s Sequence when you play as Ada, and in the room where you come face to face with a zombie for the first time with Ada.

File # 25 – Sept. Inspection (Week 2)

This File can be found in the in the Ada’s Sequence when you play as Ada, and in the room where you need to pull a lever up the stairs.

File # 26 – Copy of Emails to Umbrella HQ

This File can be found sitting on a table in the Control Room in upper Sewers.

File # 27 – Sewers Company Pamphlet

This File cane be found in the Monitor Room right in the middle of the Sewers.

File # 28 – Unlocking the U-Area Door

This File can be found in the same area of the Monitor Room in the middle of the Sewers.

File # 29 – Delivery Receipt

This File can be found on a box when you head downstairs from the Treatment Pool Room. This is all in the Cable Car Platform.

File # 30 – Jazz Festival Flyer

This File can be found in the Workers’ Break Room in the upper sewers.

File # 31 – Nap Rom Log

This File can be found in the reception hall of the laboratory. This area will be accessible to you after you use the cable car in the sewers.

File # 32 – ID Wristband

This File can be found in the room with the typewriter and item box, placed on a whiteboard in the same Reception of the Laboratory.

File # 33 – Special Forces Recording

This File can be found on a corpse that you will come across when you pass through the door south of the Laboratory Reception.

File # 34 – Herbicide Synthesis

This File can be found on a table in the Drug Testing Lab of the Laboratory.

File # 35 – Somebody’s Note

This File can be found in the Room that is South of the Lobby in Laboratory. When you pas through the underground section, you will have to go upstairs in a room to turn the lights on. A note will be placed on the chair.

File # 36 – Wayne Li’s Inbox

This File can be found in the Low-Temp Testing Lab, placed on the PC of the Laboratory.

File # 37 – Byron Cartwrights Inbox

This File can be found when you access the PC in the Presentation Room. The Pc can be accessed after you take the Senior Staff Wristband.

File # 38 – Wayne Li’s Note

This File can be found in the Nap Room of the B1 level of the Laboratory.

This File can be found o the PC after turn the power on of the Biotesting Lab in the B1 Level of the Laboratory.

This File can be found when you interact with the PC to reach it in the P-4 Level Testing Lab.

Claire’s First Playthrough

There are 12 Files in Claire’s Playthrough

File # 1 – Letter from Best Friend

This File is automatically in your Inventory when you start the game with Claire. Read it after you exit the shopping area.

File # 2 – Uses of Gunpowder

This File can be found in the West Office, the same exact place you find Leon’s File in the first floor of the Police Station.

File # 3 – Raccoon Monthly, June Issue

This File can be found in the Elevator Controls Room after you interact with the card reader in the garage, to open the door to the room.

File # 4 – copy of Emails to Chief Irons

This File can be found in the Chief’s Office on the second floor of the Police Station. You get this after you use the Diamond Key on the Elevator Controls Room to restore the power of the elevator.

File # 5 – Taxidermy Log

This File can be found in the Chief’s Office, right in the middle of the room.

File # 6 – Repair Shop Letter

This File can be found on a shelf that is in the Private Collection Room on the second floor of the Police Station.

File # 7 – Sally’s Diary

This File can be found when you play as Sherry in the hallway outside the bedroom. This is right when you exit the bedroom when playing as Sherry.

File # 8 – Tom’s Diary

This File can be found when you are playing with Sherry in the front hall after you go downstairs.

File # 9 – _______’s Diary

This File can be found next to the typewriter in the Director’s Room in Sherry’s sequence.

File # 10 – Letter from the Director

This File can be found inside the bathroom in which you see iron washing his face during your gameplay with Sherry.

File #11 – Report About “G”

This File can be found in the Office of the Sewers when you find Sherry in the Orphanage. The note will be on the whiteboard, and a typewriter next to it.

File # 12 – IMPORTANT NEXT-Wide Alert

This File can be found in the Security Room on the PC where you put Sherry in bed in the Laboratory.

Leon Second Playthrough
