Resident Evil 2 Secures the Top UK Sales Spot in its Launch Week

Lat week’s sales figures are in and it turns out that Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 Remake has managed to secure the top spot on UK sales chart for the last week. It is also Capcom’s second biggest game launch when compared to other titles released by the publisher.

It can be directly compared with Resident Evil VII which was launched in 2017 and it had similar figures however it was slightly greater than Resident Evil 2 Remake. This is according to all physical copies sold across UK and digital sales are not accounted in it. With digital sales, the sales figure could be even higher than this.

Resident Evil 2 Remake has also set the record for 2019’s biggest game launch so far. At this point, January is ending and we have the whole year in front of us but considering that as well, Resident Evil 2 Remake has set quite a decent benchmark for other games to beat.

Kingdom Hearts III is releasing tomorrow and we will have to wait and see how much better or worse it performs when compared to Resident Evil 2 Remake. Coming to 2018, Monster Hunter World was Capcom’s biggest title for the year. Resident Evil 2 Remake has broken its record as well.

  • Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

As you can see from the list above, Resident Evil 2 Remake is sitting at the top spot. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is still doing better in its second week after launch and is still managing to hold a place in the top 10 list.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is enjoying the number 2 spot while GTA 5 after all these years is still managing to hold a position among the top sellers. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is right under RDR2 which it can thank its Blackout mode for people buying the full game.

With Kingdom Hearts III releasing tomorrow worldwide, this list will surely get shaken up more next week as well. We will have to wait until next week to see how much impact Kingdom Hearts III makes to this list.
