A recent rumor or should we say, leak has claimed that Bungie is starting the work on Destiny 3 right now and it will be the most hardcore RPG in the franchise.
This leak comes from the Reddit User and a famous Destiny leaker AnonTheNine who claims that the Bungie is starting development on Destiny 3 ‘right now’. According to him, Destiny 3 will be the most hardcore RPG in the franchise since Bungie decided to go easy with Destiny 2.
Chris Barret will be taking the charge for the next Destiny title although Luke Smith who directed the second game will still play a vital role in the next game. AnonTheNine also shared a picture of Europa which can be seen above a few days ago claiming that Jupiter’s moon Europa is going to play a vital role in Destiny 3.
It might be a major hub or could be one of patrol zones but it looks like that Europa is going to play a big role in the upcoming title. This was not revealed by AnonTheNine. Another Reddit user AntimatterAccord stated a few days ago that Bungie will not attach clear percentages to the effects of armor and weapons in Destiny 2.
Commenting on this, AnonTheNine stated that this feature which is highly demanded by the community as well will be present in the next game. Destiny 3 will deliver the numbers and stats that diehard fans of the series have been waiting for a long time. AnonTheNine also stated that with Destiny 2, Bungie always wanted to go casual and not towards the more hardcore RPG elements.
However, this will not be the case with the future title. According to him, Destiny 3 will be more hardcore than Forsaken and the RPG elements will be core of the game. There will be special open-world areas where players will be able to kill each other as well as a darker side of Guardians will also be introduced in the game.
There has been no official word by Bungie on this however AnonTheNine’s leaks have been pretty solid in the past so we can assume that he might be correct this time too. However, we will have to wait and see about the real announcement by Bungie on Destiny 3.
