Saints Row

Looks like a new Saints Row game is currently being developed by Volition according to THQ Nordic. The news comes after the THQ Nordic investor meeting where the comment was picked up by a twitter user.

THQ Nordic has now talked about two games that are in development. The confirmation does not appear in the report, but a twitter user verified that the founder of THQ Nordic Lars Wingefors has stated about Saints Row and new Metro game.

The new title though is going to a full-fledged AAA title in the Saints Row series and is deep in development by Volition. The developer has worked on the previous Saints Row titles, which include the latest Saints Row 4 release back in 2013. Though it has been 6 long years to the last game, Volition released a spinoff of the series Saints Row: Gat out of Hell.

Saints Row 4 is a third-person shooter, open-world game that allowed players to explore and engage in many main story and side missions. In the game, the Saints have gone from the crackhouse to the White House—but the Earth has been invaded and it’s up to you to free the world from Overlord Zinyak and his alien empire. With homies new and old by your side and an arsenal of superpowers and strange weapons, you must save the world in the wildest open world game ever.

THQ also had other announcements made at the investors meeting, where Dambuster Studios has now taken over the Dead Island Franchise. Dambuster Studios is known for developing Homefront: The Revolution, and the studio has former Crytek U.K. and Free Radical Design staff that is currently working on the development of Dead Island 2.

Details about the game have not been shared other than being in development. We will still have to see if the new game will be titled Saints Row V or if it will come with a completely new story.
